That is just crazy, 9:15 and it's that long already?! I understand that the park can open early but, WOW!! Everything else is 10 mins or less!!!

Yup..seen this many times in past...We always went to TSM at rope drop and was always about 15 min wait as we were among first of large groups to get there...That's fast walking almost jogging, while some Run.Get off 15 min later and lines was already 60+ Minutes. That's always our #1 stop at rope drop.

That isn't exactly new!

It's that way even without spring break.

It may be because now FP+ returns start immediately at park opening, backing up the stand by line.

I'm currently at my desk with a 7.5 hour wait before I can board my ride vehicle home. :rotfl: In all seriousness, I think that's pretty common for TSMM.

Keep in mind, Hollywood Studios often opens a good 15 or 20 minutes before the "official" opening time of 9pm. So, that line's been building for a bit longer than it seems.

TSMM is the perfect storm: It appeals to all ages. Everyone heads there first (so an initial influx of hundreds of riders). It's the kind of ride you want to do over and over, so those hundreds or thousands of morning guests aren't getting out of line and moving on to some other ride. And FP returns start arriving at 9am sharp, slowing down the stand-by line.

I would happily wait...just to be in Disney.
Thank-you for the update!

Have a magical day!

I know the wait isn't new but I was surprised that it built so quickly. We have to sign up for JTA at rope drop so looks like we'll just do one FP+ ride as there is no way I'm waiting that long. I can't believe anyone waits that long (and I know it just gets worse)!! I'll check back on a "recommended" day. Just crazy!

Haha yeah. My wait time is currently measured in months.

It's always like that though. We try to go the slowest times of the year we can possibly go and it's still rarely under 60mins IME. If it drops below 1hr you feel like you won some kind of lottery. We pacify ourselves by walking on everything else in HS multiple times. :) Its pretty fun but nobody ever complains if we skip it.

For Comparison sake, I looked at touring plans recommendations from a year ago today. A year ago, they projected TSMM would hit 75 min. wait about 9:30 and there was an actual report of a 70 minute posted wait at 9:15. So from that perspective it looks almost the same. The Maximum observed wait time a year ago was 150 minutes. FP+ doesn't seem to be causing any changes to the early morning.

We went during one of the slow weeks in September last year and it was basically the same! We walked right on, twice in a row, and then had a FP for our third time. Before lunch the entire FP were closed for the rest of the day! It's crazy. That's the only reason we go to that park but I think we are skipping it this year. My boys like the Buzz Lightyear one at Tomorrowland just as much.

Have fun! Wish I was there!
