I would say this is one day I am happy not to be at WDW :rotfl2:

You folks there today are Super Disney Troppers in my book :thumbsup2

I am sure my family would freak out at lines that long. Hopefully all the people there are faring well and having a great time, regardless.

Wow, though I'm not surprised. I was there from Thursday - Sunday. The first couple of days crowds were low, we got on everything we wanted to ride with minimum wait times. Test Track on Thursday listed a 20 minute wait, we literally walked through the queue and onto the ride. No wait at all. By Saturday night the crowds were out of control. We were in the MK Saturday night, POTC listed a 20 minute wait time, but the lines were to the doorway into the ride. We didn't wait.

I was very glad to go home Sunday, seeing how crazy things were getting I knew it was just going to get worse.

WoW!!!!

Those are some waits. What strategies would work here? Besides waking up early and FP...

The key to your answers are in this post by MareSINY. While wait times can be a little extreme, you have to remember you can post them from the parks. So I'm sure the people posting the times might give them a little bump to keep the people checking them second guessing themselves as to what to ride next. :thumbsup2

I was at Animal Kingdom today and the only ride I saw a long wait on was Kali River Rapids. We waited 60 minutes for that ride. Everything else was managable when we rode it but we did get here at rope drop. Mount Everest was a 5 minutes wait for a while this morning.

We were at EPCOT yesterday and it seemed to be busier there than it was today at Animal Kingdom.

Heading to the Studio tomorrow.

Not to sound ignorant, but these crowds are due to thanksgiving right? they will go down next week? :scared1:

Wow-Our family was just at WDW last week and their was very little wait on a majority of the rides except of course TSM and Soarin. It's funny what a weeks difference makes. Of course I'd rather be in the world with a wait than not at all.

Yes :-) They will go down...

It will interesting to see what the line wait reports are on Wednesday & Thursday when the crowds are suppose to peak.

I think the folks there now should get some type of special shirt to shown their dedication, shirts like"

"I got in line for TSM at Thanksgiving 2010, so of course I missed the premier of Toy Story 4 in 2012 :scared1:"

"My wait for Test Track during Thanksgiving 2010 was longer than my drive to Disney World in my real car "

"I could have flown to California, rented a hang glider and soared across the state faster than I got on Soarin at Thanksgiving 2010:cool1:"

"When I got in line for RnR coaster during Thanksgiving 2010 Aerosmith was still a band, when I finished riding it they had finished their third and final goodbye tour:cool2:"

"Child birth, with triplets ? Please......Try Fantasmic! at Thanksgiving 2010 and get back to me  "

You get the ideal. :santa:

What time of day were you there? Did you have to get there before rope drop to get on Test Track so fast? Or was it later in the day? I'm going in 3 weeks and I anticipate that our crowds will be similar to yours. (Light early in the week and busier on the pre-xmas weekend.) I have a family of real night owls.

I agree lines at WDW are part of the "experience" I was just amazed that some of that "experience" spiked so much from one week to the next. I can only imagine what the lines are like at the rest rooms :rotfl2:

I also feel sorry for those poor CMs  It has got to be a little unnerving to look up and see that type of mass of humanity headed for you :scared1:

We were at MK yesterday (Tues) for RD. We got there at 8:45 and there were so many people there already that we couldn't even get through the turnstile yet. I have gone during busy time (Thanksgiving week last year and Spring Break 09') and this was CRAZY! However, it was our last day as we were driving home directly from MK. We got FP for Space Mountain (10 am return time) and did a lot of things that we missed the other 2 days were were there. We did end up doing Space twice (60 min. wait time pretty much all day), Carousel of Progress, Stitch (yes, I know but my dd loves it), rode the trains, did Pirates (by 2 pm had a 25 min. wait), Haunted Mansion (10 min wait but by the time we left at 2 pm it was a 25 min .wait) and Philharmagic. We had a great day but luckily we rode all the rides numerous times the previous days. I told my dd what to expect and it was still great. No lines for the bathrooms or CS foods.
There was some beauty pagent thing going on because I saw lots of girls from every state with sashes and clear boxes (?) and there was a cheerleading thing in town too.
I am sooo glad we were leaving that day, though, believe it or not. We got spoiled the other days. I will post a trip report later. :)

Got back last night. Was at Epcot for EMH AM. By 8:30 AM Soarin' was 65 min. while we were just inside the turnstile. They yelled out the time so we reversed out of there. Told the family to head for Test Track while I got fast passes. Then I ran/jogged my way past people leisurely walking to Test Track also. By the time I got there family was just entering the building. Other families had pulled aside waiting for their fast pass people, (didn't tell them they were walkin', not runnin', LOL). Test Track crept from 10 min. to 30 min. while we were waiting in line inside. Done by 9 AM. Left there to take the monorail for Supercalifragilistic breakfast at GF 9:25. While passing MK it looked like a swarm of people at the turnstile, wow! Had a great breakfast, took tons of pics of the gingerbread house. Went back to Epcot- OMG!!!:scared1: Used our FP's,(11A) standby line were now 100 min. Family of 14 people behind us, loud and obnoxious. :sad2: Could hear chanting and cheering on the standby line but couldn't see them. Outta there, did some shopping, got some photopass pics- (photographers were now looking for people to come up to them) then we left for Downtown Disney for lunch. Left Disney by 3pm, got home 11pm. Could see freeway into Orlando slowing to crawl, passed a couple accidents but once outside of Orlando clear sailing.

Wow! Long lines may be part of the themepark experience but they will never be part of it for me. No way, no how!

Kudos to those of you dealing with this right now. What happened to the week leading up to Thanksgiving being fairly quiet? Years ago, it was like that when we went once.

Well lets see, that was on Thursday... the day we arrived, so we didn't get to the parks until around 12pm or so, maybe even a bit later. We first went and got FP's for Soarin (which was only a 2 hour wait) and then we went to Mexico for a QS lunch before hitting Test Track. So I'd say it was well after 2pm by the time we got to Test Track.

On Friday we hit AK, got there after rope drop but it was still early in the morning. We rode a few rides, walked through a couple stores and then headed past EE which only had a 5 minute wait. Wait times were really low the first couple of days we were there.

We are here now, DHS was CRAZY CRAZY yesterday. We were there at park opening, and the fast pass line for TSM was all the way back to the rope drop line once they opened the park. they were gone right after 10, and then the wait was CRAZY. The 6:30 fantasmic show was filled at about 5:45, and then they were having people line up then for the 8:00 show, which started late because it took soo long for everyone to get seated. I met some people who have been at the park during this time for the last ten years, and this is the busiest they have ever seen it. There was a CM standing by us as we were talking, and he told us that Monday the parks reached a three year high for the number of people in all four parks (haven't verified that of course, and we all know how reliable some cm's can be). We were in Epcot on Monday and the crowds weren't too bad, and in MK on Sunday. The crowds were pretty heavy in the afternoon in MK, but had died down by parade time. We are avoiding the parks for the rest of the week, and if yeaterday was any indicater of how the rest of the week may be, good luck to everyone else who is there, you may need it.
