When we attempted to get on TSM this past Saturday (very busy), the CM at the FP entrance let us know that the wheelchair loading was very backed up, and we may prefer to come back later. When we came back in the evening, I asked the CM how backed up it was, and he very pleasantly offered to call up there to find out. This was so helpful! DS would have had a meltdown if we worked our way that far, then encountered a hoard of people and another 45 to 60 minute wait. On the other hand, he was fine with coming back later.

So if it you have concerns about the wait times in the WC load area, they can find out for you before you head in.

That is a good point to keep in mind.
There are 3 attractions I can think of that have stairs in the line-
Toy Story Mania
Dinosaur
Splash Mountain

There is a bypass for the stairs for all of those attractions, but anyone who is not able to use the stairs for any reason needs to use that bypass. That can lead to huge backups at times, especially at TSM, which loads slowly and generally only loads one ride car pod per ride cycle at the accessible boarding area.
We have seen that boarding area backed up nearly to the start if the ramp.

(American Adventure has stairs, but also has escalators, so some who can't do stairs are able to use those).

When we did go back later, the ramp was still bad....just not as bad. DS was OK because it was the end of the day, he really wanted to go, and all the other shows he cared about were done for the day. It helped a lot to be able to know it was bad, arm him with that info, and let HIM make the choice to wait. BUT even that "shorter" backup on the WC load area was beyond the end of the ramp and around the corner. It was crazy. Fortunately for me there was a nice young family in front of us whose son has Downs as well as other issues, and we enjoyed chatting thru wait.
