TSM fast pass question

I know that conventional wisdom is to get TSM fastpass first. But, I've been watching the reported times on the lines app and see that the first FP return times are far away, which will push back my other FPs. I know there is usually a line for FP's but if I'm there at rope drop, what is the likely return time assuming I'm not first in line?

If you are there at rope drop, just ride TSM and forget the FP. This is what we do. Once off we send someone to get RnR FP while we wait in line to meet Buzz and Woody. Then when our RnR time is up we grab ToT FP on our way to ride RnR. When done with RnR it's time to ride ToT (or we burn 15 minutes getting a yummy egg bagel from that CS there between the two and coffee.) By 11 am you have the things with the longest lines completely out of the way and can concentrate on shows and other low line attractions & characters.

I'm usually AT the rope (as in I'm the FIRST person through one of the turnstiles, and I walk-not-run to the rope. I'm usually one of the first people to get a FP for TSM, and my return time is normally 9:45 or so. I then get in the standby line and I'm off the ride by 9:25-9:30, FP in hand. By the time I walk over to RNR/TOT, my window's open for another FP.

If you get a FP for TSM, it does not push back the times on your other FP's. It only pushes back the time when you can obtain another FP. Usually you have to wait an hour or so before you can get another FP. It will print a time on the FP when you can get your next FP. When you walk up to a FP machine, the return time for that particular attraction is displayed up top. So what ever time it's displaying at the time, will be your return time.

As far as what would be your return time if you're not first in line, it all depends on the season and how fast the FP's are being distributed. We went last October and got to the park at 10 am. Went straight to TSM to get FP's. Our return time was already at 3:30 pm. When time came to get our next FP's, we got FP's for RnRC and our return time was 1:30 pm. Hope this helps.

FP time to get your next one will be 2 hours unless your FP return window before the 2 hours are up. The 1 hour window is currently excluse to the meet and greets in the MK.

We try to avoid the 2 hour return time by focusing on getting FPs earlier in the day when the return time is under an hour. My concern is that if I am not in front of the line for FPs at TSM, my return time might be so far ahead that I will have to wait the full 2 hours to get either RNR or ToT. Touring plans shows less than an hour return time as long as you get the FPs before 11. But, I'm starting to get concerned based on other first hand reports that that return time is unrealistic. We are going Memorial Day but HS is is supposed to be a best park that day. Anyone else with first hand experience?

I think you would be safe to FP this, then walk straight on to RnR or TOT. There is that much of the crowd that goes to TSM. If you want to ride TSM more than once, then you should get in line right away AND FP it. Take your chances with RnR or TOT. Both of those you should still have a less than 30 minute standby wait for if you get out of TSM by 9:30-9:45.

OP: your return time is not necessarily the time when you can get another FP.

The time when you can get another FP is printed on the bottom of your FP. Normally it is the time when your FP return window opens OR 2 hours from the time when you get the original FP, whichever comes first.

So: if at 10 am you get a FP with a return time of 11 am, you can get another FP beginning at 11 am. If at 10 am you get a FP with a return time of 3 pm, you can get your next FP at 12 noon.

I think you are over thinking it.

Relax. get a fast pass, and move on.

+1. We were there over Spring Break for two ropedrops at DHS. Both days we rode TSM, got a fast pass for TSM after riding, then walked onto RnR and TOT. Definitely get the TSM FP

+2. Same here we walked onto RnRC and TOT over spring break week. Of course they opened the park at 8:00 am (actually like 7:45 am) which helped too!

I am definitely over thinking it -- that's what I do. Thanks for all of the responses, I am not riding TSM so I will get the FPs while everyone else rides and then we can decide whether to ride SB for Tot or RNR for fast pass for later. Still hoping for an early FP return time for TSM so we can stack FPs for ToT and RNR for later. Thanks.

I would definately make sure you take off for the TSM fastpass as fast as you can. All of the fastpasses will be gone within the first 1.5 hours for the entire day.

Here was our experience the week before Easter, so it was busy. We got on TSM, then got a fast pass. Our return time was 2:00:eek:! That was about 10 minutes into park opening. We couldn't get another fp for two hours. However, since we were so early, we rode the roller coaster and TOT and did about 6 other things before we needed to get another FP!
