11 year old can get restless so I am looking for places that will good to eat at plus keep the kids entertained. (Is that possible?;) ) Can you give me any recommendations for any TS that you think would be enjoyed by our family?:)

There are several fun restaurants to choose from -

Tappanyaki at Epcot - the chefs are very entertaining and the food is really good
Biergarten at Epcot - buffet with lots of choices - the dancing and hornblowing are fun and the atmosphere is noisy and casual
BOMA - interesting buffet with lots of good food - prime rib to chicken fingers/mac and cheese to soups and different salads - great hotel to walk around in after dinner - there is a fire pit inside with rockers and a firepit outside - you can see the animals in the savannah and there are lots of guides and native Africans that tell stories and/or answer questions
Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge - can be a real hoot - good "skillet" food or can choose a la carte ---lots of laughter and a neat lodge
Prime Time Cafe - this is fun if you get a good waiter and the fried chicken is tasty
Chef Mickey - decent buffet with good character interaction

I have read that the Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern have good food and good characters but I have not personally been to either

Good Luck and have a wonderful time!

There are several. I think any of the character meals would be fine. I would pick one based on what characters you think they would like. 'Ohana at the Poly is a lot of fun and moves a quick, but not rushed, pace. I would also try Sci-Fi Dine in at MGM. You may want to try Planet Hollywood or Rain Forest Cafe. I have 2 DDs the same age and they like all of those:cool1:

Definitely Whispering Canyon Cafe. It's so much fun- the kids will get a kick out of asking for ketchup and playing their games. O'Hanas is another one that may be interesting to them. They have some interaction there, too. And, if you time it right, you and the kids can watch the fireworks from your table!

Our DS was 12 for our trip last Aug. and he really enjoyed Whispering Canyon and 50's Prime Time - in fact, we are doing both again during our trip this Aug. :) He also enjoys Chef Mickey's for the Character Breakfast. We are trying 'Ohana this trip since I've heard it's also a lot of fun for kids.

Have a great trip!:goodvibes

We went in Oct with a 13 yr old and 10 yr old. They loved Whispering Canyon for dinner and Ohana's for breakfast. Lilo kept flirting with my 13 yr old son :) The 10 yr old loved Chef Mickey's for dinner (the 13 yr old wasn't there that night)

I have a 10 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. Here are their favorites:

Prime Time
Sci Fi
Chef Mickey's
O'Hana
Liberty Tree Tavern
Coral Reef
San Angel Inn
Tony's (they love the Lady and the Tramp theme)

And I know that they will love Whispering Canyon Cafe too, we will be trying that for the first time in October.

My then 10 and 13 year old sons really enjoyed the meal at Whispering Cafe Wilderness Lodge. Been over a year and they still bring up some of the classic moments. Food was awesome too!

Oldest son and I ate at Prime Time Cafe MGM and that was a hoot as well.

My boys also liked breakfast at Restaurantosaurus Animal Kingdom as the characters were more "boy" friendly and were quite the pranksters.

I would definitely make ADR for Whispering Canyon. DD14 and I were there for breakfast and thought he food very good and the entertainment was so much fun. We're going again this summer!

Wow, thank you so much to all of you for taking the time to help me out!:thumbsup2

I don't know if you are interested in a dinner show, but my kids love the Hoop de Doo! It's something that we experience every time we go! It's hilarious (if you like "Hee Haw" type funny), and the food is great. There is a lot of audience participation and it's all you can eat (which is perfect for the voracious apetite of my 13 year old)...
Happy planning! :goodvibes

Our 11 yr old son really enjoyed Coral Reef. Watching all the fish in the aquarium, divers came down and we had this huge turtle sitting right in front of us- great food and service too.

Prime Time is another favorite of ours, our kids loved seeing dad in a bib and all the other antics going on, my DD on the other hand was fearful of being picked on so she did not enjoy it as much. If our DD is not with us then this resturant is a must do every trip.

Sci Fi is fun as far as the atmosphere and watching the old movie clips, food was good but service was not. we probably won't return.

Sometimes our kids just want a nice quiet meal without all the distractions since they have been overloaded all day at the park. Kona Cafe was delish and service very good. Rose and Crown is also a family favorite and if your really lucky you will be able to watch the fireworks while you enjoy your meal.
