TS restaurant in Italy open yet???

I posted under another thread but am afraid my question might be lost in shuffle.

DD keeps saying they aren't accepting reservations for the new restaurant but the announcement said Alfredos was to close 8/31 and the new one would open in the current spot and close for rennovations next January.

Can someone tell me who has BEEN to Epcot recently...is there a TS restaurant operating in Italy?????? I'm hoping since ressies aren't being accepted, perhaps we can just enjoy a walk in meal.

I am leaving on Tues and spoke to MS today and was advised that there is nothing in Italy yet!!

They do not have any news and believe that they may not know anything until the F&W or later than that!

Thank you for the quick reply. I thought it was too good to hope that another restaurant could move into an existing kitchen and start operations that quickly.

When we were there 8/24 our server told us they were closing for 2 weeks to turn-over. Guess that puts them at today!

There's a rumor that the temporary table service restaurant at Italy, Tutto Italia, will open Monday, September 17. That's just a few days from now.

Disney Dining does not have Tutto Italia in their computer system, except for some Food & Wine Pairings during the F&W Festival and for Candlelight Processional dinner packages.

Also, Disney Dining does not have any information about the menu at Tutto Italia or any other details about what to expect.

If the rumors about September 17 are true, I'm sure we'll be reading about Tutto Italia on this forum next week.

Patina Restaurant Group did not take control of the space until September 1. If they successfully open a restaurant in that space on September 17, it will be an amazing accomplishment.

Just an FYI...I made reservations a few months back for the Processional Package and the restaurant that we will be eating at is Tutto Italia. I just called to confirm my reservations and the Disney agent re-confirmed my reservation for this Italian restaurant. Hope this information helps!

I was there today looking at the menu. They opened Monday. They are not taking ADR's...only walk ups.
