During our trip in October, we are going to attend our first evening EMH at Animal Kingdom (one of our favorite parks!). We probably won't enter the park until early afternoon. Can someone recommend a nice TS lunch somewhere close to AK? We will have our own car so we can drive if it would be easier and save time. Thanks!

unfortunately, many resorts eateries do not serve lunch. I know they don't have the terrific Boma or Jiko

why not go into the park for lunch and do Tusker House or yak&Yeti

You could also do the Rainforest Cafe, you don't actually have to enter the park to eat there. But I am not a huge fan of it

We will be on the dining plan and I don't believe Rainforest is included, is it?

I was thinking that Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge served lunch, but is it close to AK? (nevermind, I see that its 10 miles away!).

Tell me about Tusker House. We ate there a few years ago when it was still counter service, but haven't been there since it changed to TS. I was just kinda wanting to hit the ground running when we entered the park instead of taking the time to eat, but that may not work out.

I would head right into AK and have your TS lunch at Yak and Yeti, one other possibility Sanaa at Kidani Village will be serving lunch...that might be fun.

We are planning on doing Flame Tree BBQ for lunch and then taking a bus to Narcoosees at the Grand Floridian for dinner. So excited!

Sanaa will be open at the AKL Kidani Village when y'all go, and it's open for lunch, or so says the advance word.

tusker house is now a buffet and its pretty good IMHO

Here's the menu

I had the buffet atTusker House last October and I liked it a lot. The only thing I didn't like was that although I had reservations, walk-ups were told that the wait was about 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile I had to wait about 20-25 minutes! However, once inside, the food was good.

I was thinking Sanaa also. The menu sounds fantastic.

Yak & Yeti also sounds good, is on the DDP and pretty new also. But the menu doesn't look very different from the Chinese places we have here in town. Still planning on going though.
