Daughter afraid of characters but son loves them...can we dine separately or does the family have to use all 4 table service credits at the same time? I know I read that QS you can do that.

If that is yes then the next question...my Aunt lives locally and will be joining us for the day. When we dine (2 adults, 2 children in our family + 1 Aunt) can her TS meal be deducted from our credits. Due to the splitting and restaurant availability it looks like we are going to have an extra adult TS and child TS anyway and I would hate to see credits wasted.

I have read for quick service that the credits are pooled and to use more meals at one sitting than printed on the card both my husband's card and mine need to be swiped. Can we do this at TS...2 checks...have husband and children swiped on his card and then me and Aunti swiped on my card? I figure that it should be OK since I paid for a certain number of meals in the plan and am not using more than what I paid for.

Thank you for your response.

You can always use fewer credits than people listed on your cards, that's not a problem. By the same token, you can also mix credits and out of pocket (OOP) charges at the same meal.

Credits are non-transferable, however. You are not allowed to use them for your aunt's meals.

No, it's not OK because in the Disney DDP brochure it states that you may not use credits for anyone not on the plan.

Q. Can I use my Disney Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family
members who are not included in my reservation and have not purchased a Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining?
A. Sorry, you may not use your Disney Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family members who are not included in your reservation and have not purchased a Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining.

To answer the first part of your question, yes one parent can take 1 child to a character meal, while the other parent takes the other child to a non-character (TS) meal, or grab a CS meal somewhere. No problem with that.

You won't be able to use your extra TS credit for your aunt tho, as it is against policy as PPs have said -- I also think that I have read that the servers can get in trouble if they run the charges that way (using credits for someone not on DDP) so they wouldn't do it.

If you have 1 extra child TS credit & 1 extra adult TS credit, the other parent can take the "willing" child to an extra character meal, while the fearful child + parent has a CS meal & rides a few extra rides.

Have one parent take your son to a character meal while the other parent takes daughter to a non-character TS meal. That way you use up all your credits.

Thanks for all the responses...not trying to get anyone in trouble so we'll pay out of pocket for the aunt....we can still use DDP for us at the same table if I understand it correctly.

Love the idea of taking the willing son to an additional character meal...thanks for the suggestion!!!

Yes, maybe you can switch off so that you both get to experience a character meal with your DS! :thumbsup2
