We are planning on spending one of our nine WDW vacation days at Typhoon Lagoon, and would like head out for a TS lunch some time in the early afternoon. Are there any nearby TS restaurants worth going to, and how easy are they to get to?

DTD seems to the closest to Typhoon Lagoon, but I am not sure if you can walk across Bueno Vista Drive toward the West Side.

You might also consider hoping on a resort bus and eating at one of the resorts. Just be sure to bring along extra clothes to change into.

We plan on a day there too and will just take clothes to change into along with stuff to shower with. We then are hopping the bus to Wilderness Lodge for dinner there. After dinner we will either hop the bus back to Downtown Disney or take the boat back over to Transportation Center and go from there.

Going to Wolfgang Puck in DTD for lunch would be a good option, but the question is how to get there.

Out of curiousity, I "google-earth" Typhoon Lagoon minutes ago. Guess what? All you have to do is cross Buena Vista Drive at the traffic light at the front entrance of the water park. From the ticket booth of the water park is less than 1 mile to the West side of DTD. Your best bet will still be hopping on the Disney bus to DTD from Typhoon Lagoon.

According to The Complete Walt Disney World 2008, there is no bus transportation between any of the parks and DTD. :confused3 If that is true (and it may not be), then that would mean taking a bus to one of the resorts and transfering to a bus to DTD. In that case, we would be better off just having lunch at that resort!

I just looked at Google Earth myself, and it seems to be less than a half mile walk . . . maybe. I'm wondering if that's a possibility.

Resort buses combine DtD with TL, so you can hop any resort bus and get to DtD. It may go the resort first though, I can't remember which order they go in.

As for which TS would be nearest... DtD restaurants and Epcot resorts I think are nearest. Depending on how much time you want to invest you really could go to any of the resorts though. The MK area resorts are a longer ride, but you're still really only talking about 15 extra minutes or so in each direction over the Epcot resorts.
