TS exchange for CS in Nov?

In mid November '08, will it be possible to trade a TS credit for a counter meal? I saw the other threads where that's possible in Aug-Sept but was wondering about November.

Since we're booking late it might be hard to find an available TS reservation for each night, so having the option of downgrading a TS to CS would offer some flexibility (with the obvious drawback of throwing a little money away).

Do all TS meals take 2 hours, or could you do some within an hour if you didn't want to spend that much time at every TS meal?

I´ve been wondering the same thing about exchanging TS for CS credits, so I can´t help you there. From what I´ve read it is something you would have to discuss with your front desk.
However, we have never spent 2 hours on a TS meal. Granted, we mostly go to buffets (so no wait for food) and if we go to regular TS places we never order 3 courses.

In our experience, most of the table service meals do not take 2 hours. We did several different buffet table service meals in late May, those took 50-75 min. At Le Cellier (menu, table service) it was just over an hour (no appetiser but we did do adult beverages first.)

The 2 TS meals are the ones that take longer (signature & special dining) ...theses are the more "upscale" restaurant with more sedate service...they expect you to slow down & savor the food at those prices! We did two of those meals in May (CRT & Cali Grille) and they took about 2 hours each, not including wait time to be seated (we arrived 10-15 min. before our ADR and were seated within 5 min. of actual ADR time at both.) We did not have an appetizer at Cali Grille, so that was a little under 2 hours.

You can talk to your concierge desk about the possibility of exchanging TS for CS...people have posted that they had no problem doing this. However, they just trade them straight across-one table service for one counter service, so you're really cutting into the value for your $$ doing that. Our Table Service meals in May averaged about $35 per day, our counter service meals average about $15 per day.
