Trying to talk my dad and his wife into...UPDATE Prayers needed..

Joining our family in WDW for christmas...

I sent a great email (we had discussed it over the phone but I figured with email I could show great links) with links and stuff to show all the neat stuff we could do... well he called to day to say they would love to BUT....he as a Dr appt scheduled for the day I wanted them to come Dec 23...he checked and it can't be changed...

Well being the conniver that I am....I found a flight on Dec 24th that arrives at 9:30am....I just found a cheaper rate at the new Pop Century...I talked to them again...they said they would think about it....It's my 40th bday on Christmas eve, they could spend Christmas Morning with the grandkids, and both of them have been very ill on and off for most of the year....

Please keep your fingers crossed and lots of pixie dust....

Del....I'm not sure we can take our kids out of school in dec...how do you manage it????

Please let them know that I think they'd be crazy to not meet you in WDW. If it was my DD, especially on her birthday, I'd definitely be there with her.

I'm sure in their hearts they would truely love to be there but I think they are having to think about it because they both have health issues....Step mother is battling Breast Cancer for the second time ( though she has made it another year). and my dad spent last week hemoraging until they found the problem (after 5 days), they nicked him during a prostate biopsy and he is on blood thinners due to his heart problems...and he is positive for prostate cancer.....So, you can see why I want to spend this time with them but you can also see why they would be a bit relucutant....double edge sword....They are both pretty young...dad is 67 and stepmom is like 59.....

This could be such a special time for all of us....

Its not easy but Chris is saving his leave time and if he isn't deployed he will be down there as many days as he can. If he can only stay 4 days he will be there at the end of the trip this time instead of leaving in the middle.

Nikki will be in college then and we are having trouble figuring out the vacation days for that but if needed she could fly down later. The college kids around here are on vacation now for the rest of the month. So she may be able to go the entire time.

Beatlebum and Emily are the hardest ones, but they will only miss 7 days total. This last trip we took they missed the same amount of days. They were excused absentes because it was a family event so it didnt go against them. They are allowed 28 days per school year. They brought homework with them so they wouldnt fall behind.

We have talked about making it later in the month too, so that will cut down on the missed days. I'm alittle nervous about being there at Christmas because of the crowds.

Now that I have resservations at the All Stars, they want to stay at the 'Play-dough place'. (Pop centry)

Ah. I thought I remembered hearing you would be near us, but we are leaving the Swan for the Poly on the 24th.

I think they are kind of a hard group to miss Katie. Not you ZW, or the kids, but that guy you hang out with, you know, the Evil Emporer Guy....

Best wishes that your dad and stepmom will feel up to making the trip and join you. Some of my best memories are being at WDW with my parents,brother, Nana, and Uncle at Christmas. Pure Magic!

Got a call from my step mother today...Dad is back in the ER seems he is bleeding again.....UGH!!!! She said it started about 24 hrs ago and has gotten worse....December seems to be the worst month as far as health problems go for these two.....

Now instead of wanting them to visit over Christmas I just hope they aren't in the hospital...

Dad was admitted yesterday to the hospital...they are hoping to find out the area that has started bleeding again today...fingers crossed...
