Trying to set up. HELP!!

Can someone please help me figure this site out. I don't even know how to find myself to begin setting things up. I know, I'm pretty lame with computers. For instance, how do you attatch a ticker to the bottom of my post, type items under the avitar, and personalize my space. HELP!!!!

HI and welcome!!!

I'm pretty computer illiterate myself, so rest assured that it's all pretty simple. Otherwise I would never be able to do any of it.

For your signature (Mine talks about taking the kids to Disney for the first time...) go to User CP in the navy blue line up at top, then to "edit signature." Type what you want, and include smilies if you want.

If you want to include a ticker (mine shows a plane going to WDW in 4 months) go to www.tickerfactory.com, make one, and cut and paste it into your signature.

THat's the advice I was going to give till the Dis Freaked out on me.

Just play around in the "CP" and always do a "Preview" to see how you like the look.

There are LOTS of "Ticker's" out there. Most can be added to your "siggie"

Thank you all so much. This will definately help! And yes, I am planning a trip to the world. However, it wont be untill April 2009 ! We are planning it for our daughter's 4th birthday. We are going to do it all, so I need to plan well in advance. I'm a Disney veteran have been going about every 3 years since I was 3, but it will be our daughter's first trip. I just can't wait. Thank you all again. I'm so happy to be a part of the disboards. I understand having to have that bit if Disney each day.

I see you have Buzz and Woody as your Avatar... but it you want to change them you need to find the pic you want.. and upoad it

You have several pages of character options but if you want say a Pic of your kids... and it is on your computer.. then choose option 2( at the botttom of the page)
use your browse button and select the file that has your pic. But note the SIZE.. it can only be 3.9 kb or 100x100 pixels. If it's too big you will need to edit it.

A lot of us use "Photobucket" http://photobucket.com/ to find or upload our own pictures. The site will allow you to edit you pic's and I think it even had an avatar section.. BUT YOU CAN EDIT and make it smaller till it will fit.

Same goes for addding pic's to your siggie..

Go to edit Signature under the User CP
and once you have a pic in Photobucket you want... copy the last option( IMG CODE) thencome back to your user CP
you see your Menu options with fonts, center Smilies, ... click on the picture that looks like a "Mountain" That is your "Insert Image Option"
Open the Box Paste your Image and hit O.K.

Your Pic should apperar in your siggie..

Always do a Preview.. so see how it looks and so you can make changes.


Clear as Mud ???


Open up a couple of other Tabs on the internet... so you can flip back and forth with these Instructions...
