I have cute DISigns made for me that I have printed on card stock and cut out. I want to have them laminated, but I am not sure if you should add magnets first or glue them on after it's laminated. Also, I am a bit confused about what kind of magnets to use. Any suggestions from you creative folks?

Hello,
If you are running them through a laminating machine you will want to laminate and then add the magnets, the magnets will jam the machine if you put them on before laminating. I used the magnets that come in a roll and one side has adhesive. I bought the roll at walmart.

If you are using clear contact paper to laminate and will only be laminating the front I would laminate first and then add the magnets so you have a flat surface to work on for the laminating part.

Thanks so much. Asking the Staples clerk for help is about as 'crafty' as I get so I just wasn't sure. I will have them laminated through a machine at school then hopefully I can manage stick on magnets. Lol

You can buy laminated magnet paper at craft stores. Xyron makes a hand crank, roll-through, magnet maker that you can get for 40% off with all those weekly coupons that are always available. We make car magnets (I turn bumper stickers into bumper magnets) door magnets, all kinds of fun things. We got the refill paper on Amazon (cheaper) and use it a lot. I think the final cost was $30-40? That might be more than you wanted to spend for door magnets but if you use it for lots of stuff it pays for itself.
