Trying to loose weight!!!

Ok well I went to Walmart and bought my mom Billy Banks Tae Bo Amped. She loves it she tried it with my sister and oh let me tell you not even 5 minutes passed and they where feeling the burn. I am glad the process has started. :cool1:

I have been using mydailyplate.com its a free site that lets you record your food intake and calculates the calories. You will need to register but its a cool site.

about 2-3 months Before heading to disney-- we start doing the walking thing to get our legs used to walking/standing for long periods of time.

I would not use pills, and get quick results etc--- if there was some sort of magic thing that we can ingest to take weight off we would see a lot more skinnier people then we do. There is no get skinny quick schemes that work.

The weight did not get there overnight and we should not expect it to disappear quickly

DH and I have had excellent success following the principles outlined in the Fat Flush books by Gittleman.

The basic principle is that your liver is where your fat is metabolized. Many of us have not only a tired liver but also poor quality bile (which is what your liver uses to metabolize fat). So if you can alter your diet so that you can nutritionally support the function of your liver and improve the quality of your bile, your body will have greater success in metabolizing fat, and you will, in turn loss fat more readily.

Another book by Gittleman has Detox in the title, and it also has some great information.

The plan will also detail a life style of eating that will also be condusive to your body needing to access your fat for energy, etc. I can say that the eating plan is difficult, especially if you have a sweet tooth or LOVE bread.

DH and I have kind of fallen off the band wagon with the eating plan since spring break/my birthday and both of us have noticed that while we have thoroughly enjoyed eating what we have been eating (sweets and bread), we have generally been feeling lousy compared to how we were feeling when we were following the principles of the lifestyle of eating, and while we were excited to start the plan before for weight loss only, our excitement over starting the plan again involves so much more.

I'm a talker so if you have any questions...

Thanks for the info. Well I have never been into loosing weight all through high school I have always been skinny doctors wanted me to gain weight and I did but I am not comfortable with this weight. So I kind of know how mom feels last year she was able to drop 20lbs. and she felt great then a couple of months later she caught the flu and since she didnt excersise she gained the weight back. She doesn't feel comfortable now. So anything will help my sister and I are supporting her so if she works out either both of us or one of us will work out with her. If you have anything else I am all ears.

Everyone is different, but here is what worked for me: (16 lbs & counting)
1.Switched all the pasta and bread in the house to whole wheat (NOT whole grain). Arnold has a great Bakery Lite whole wheat that is only 40 cal a slice.
2. Added milled flaxseed to EVERYTHING. It has no taste & provides fiber.
3. If exercising, eat lots of protein!
4. Eat every 3-4 hours (DH prefers to snack on yogurt, for me it's applesauce & apples) For an indulgence, slimabear ice cream sandwiches (100 cal)
5. No more microwave popcorn!! We buy plain kernels, put 1/4 cup in a brown lunch bag and into the microwave on popcorn setting. This way you control the butter & salt and there's no oil. Tastes great too!!
6. WALK, WALK, WALK!! ( I also do Dance, Dance Revolution and Jillian Michaels workout on the Wii Fit) Just started some weight training too. Watch biggest Loser for inspiration haha
We stayed at BWV on our last trip & walked to & from Epcot & DHS every day. Even with the burgers & fries and those darn Mickey bars, I managed to LOSE 1 lb on the trip. Good luck and don't ever give up!!
