If I purchase an add on in March can I bank those points?

Or, would I have to buy them before the 4 month banking window closes?

Are we talking about March of next year? I would think banking windows are pretty much set in stone. There are folks on here with a lot of experience. One of 'em will probably discover your ? before long.

I have a March UY and did an add-on in Feb and was allowed to bank the points. DVC typically allows this.

As Mike said, DVC typically allows members to bank the current UY points they get with their add-on, even if they are past their banking deadlines. Be careful about waiting until the very end of your UY to purchase an add-on. They may run out of current UY points or they may not be able to process your add-on before your UY ends, in which case you will lose out on a year's worth of points.

Yes, they have been allowing you to bank the points beyond the banking window, but that has not always been the case. I have March UY, once our BWV points didn't become available from Disney until January. Even though we were only 1 WEEK into the non-banking time (old rules, and the percent would have been fine as well), they would NOT let me bank. This was January '04. I didn't know enough to ask for an exception, and probably I should have called our guide and I would do that now, but that's water under the bridge now.

Do they treat resale purchasers differently? We bought direct from DVC and had passed our banking window but since we were new we were allowed to bank the full amount versus 50%.

Purchased a March UY in late Jan... got all the 2007 points and was allowed to bank them. Buying them so late also meant no 2007 fees (saves $$). This was directly from Disney!

The BWV add on (50 points) that they wouldn't let me bank, was bought from Disney and the points came to me in January 2005.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll be careful to ask my guide about that before my next add on. It was my frugal side coming out. Trying to save on the pro rated maintenance.
