PLEASE HELP!!!

will be there 4/3-10th (2.5+ & 6 yr old) at Swan:

Need help in trying to plan our meal (& afterwards) itinerary (especially if we use Q&C's)!!!

Here's my 'thinking' - uggh... - pls make any suggestions and/or changes:

Saturday (arrive mid afternoon):
->late lunch - Chefs de France (french menu)
->Dinner - ?beach and cream (Q&C)
... afterwards ????

Sunday:
->breakfast: - spoodles -> (1st full day -have to go to MK-right?!)
->lunch (MK): - ?columbia hse (Q&C)
->dinner: - ??beach and cream (Q&C)
....where afterwards??

Mon, Wed, Fri:

BREAKFAST:
-If we have 10 am Character Breakfasts on Mon, Wed, Fri at the following: crystal palace, ohana, cape may.... then we would plan on skipping lunch (too full). We would most likely go to Magic Kingdom after breakfast.

DINNER:
- So...if we were to use Q&C....our choices for dinner would probably be Beach & Cream or Flame Tree (i guess???.... any suggestions?)
..... Questions: If we did either of these restaurants for dinner, since they are both at the other end (ie, boardwalk or AK) what should we do afterwards....go to Epcot or go back to MK?

Tues, Thursday:
->BREAKFAST: - ?spoodles/fresh (Epcot or AK??? or MK?)
->LUNCH: - ?MK=columbia hse(Q&C) or
?AK=flame tree(Q&C) or
?Epcot=Tang. Cafe? (...any suggestions?(Q&C)
->DINNER: - ?beach and cream (Q&C) or
should we head to MK for dinner??

....where afterwards??

*********
I know this is confusing... (it is to me also), but I'm trying to figure out how many (if any) Q&C's to order. Am I on the right or wrong track? pls be honest.

thanks all.

I think you're going to get tired of Beaches & Cream very quickly. The menu is not so diversified that you're going to want to eat there so often.

Perhaps, you should consider doing some meals without using the meal vouchers. You do get a lot of food for the amount of money that you spend but if it's food that you would not have ordered otherwise, it isn't such a terrific value.

We'll be in WDW for 5 days this summer. My tentative schedule looks something like this for my family of 4 (2 children over 10):

Saturday: Arrive late afternoon. Visit Boardwalk area or swim at resort pool. Dinner at Beaches & Cream using 2 Q&C vouchers, adding drinks and side dishes to satisfy everyone.

Sunday: Breakfast in room. Do MGM. Late lunch at Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time using 2 VKLs and ordering extras. Afternoon swim at BB or SAB. Dinner will be played by ear, depending on what park we feel like visiting.

Monday: Breakfast in room. Do AK. Late lunch at RFC using 2 VKLs and ordering extras. Afternoon break and snacks at the room. Dinner and Illuminations at EPCOT. Chances are that we'll munch our way around the World Showcase.

Tuesday: Breakfast in room (might do a character Breakfast but not sure yet). Do MK. Lunch at Columbia Harbor House or Pinocchio Village Haus using 2 Q&Cs and ordering extras OR late lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern using 2 VKLs and ordering extras. Late afternoon break and snacks at the room. Dinner on the Boardwalk or at MGM. See Fantasmic!

Wednesday: Breakfast in room. EMH at EPCOT. Lunch at Sunshine Food Fare using 2 or 3 Q&C vouchers. Mid-afternoon break and snacks at room. Go to MK in evening to see Wishes. Dinner at Tony's Town Square using 2 VKLs and ordering extras.

Thursday: Breakfast in room. Last day - park of choice. Lunch using 2 Q&Cs at whatever restaurant takes them in that park. Depart WDW around 5 pm.

Totals:
  • 8-9 Q&C
  • 6-8 VKLs
  • 0-4 Breakfast Vouchers
It's good to know that I have 90 days to return any unused vouchers. I'll feel better about ordering extras rather than not enough.

First of all don't plan your day around the vouchers. Plan the day and then see if any will work into them. I end up in Orlando for more than just vacations, I may visit Disney 6+ times a year, sometimes just to eat a single meal. If you are planning on using Disney transportation to get around, then forget about eating a meal outside of the park you are in, you will waste so much time on travel that you will regret any savings from the vouchers. But if you are driving or taking a cab you maybe able to park hop and eat without too much lost time. I would plan on eating at Beaches when you are visiting Epcot. If you arrive late and eat lunch in France after 2:00 or so, I think you will be too full to want any dinner before 7:00, so go to Beaches, have dinner and then go watch the fireworks at Epcot. On Sunday, if you are going to MK, why go clear over to Boardwalk for bkfst? I would eat closer to the park, same for dinner why go clear back over to Epcot? I would plan my days and then plan my meals with as little travel to and from meal sites as possible, because that time is just plain wasted, and you are paying alot per hour to be in the parks. The vouchers are a great deal, but don't let them run your schedule.

I didn't realize I could use the VKL vouchers at Tony's for dinner. Is this something new?

Try using a meal voucher at PepperMarket at Cornado Springs. Terrific Dining place. We ate here twice using our vouchers and the food was great. 2 vouchers here will feed your family of 4.

My plan for our first trip with Q&C vouchers goes like this... plan my days, study maps and touring plans and guesstimate where we will be when we want to eat. Check menues for ALL the places to eat (not just Q&C list) and guess what we are likely to want... figure out how many Q&C's we 'might' use based on this and buy them knowing there are always people who are looking for them on these boards (Canadians and others outside US can't get them). I have also checked menus for price of meals we would have ordered w/o vouchers, almost every time we are still spending $11 or so anyway so I am not too worried about 'getting my moneys worth' I figure it is prepaid (which is good) and if we break even I am happy.

I'm going by elfbo's updated post on page 1 of the "Everything You Wanted to Know About Connections Meal Vouchers" Thread. Tony's is listed in the MK. My family really liked it the last time we ate there, so I thought I'd pencil it in again.

sorry to bother mad4themouse again-
I did see where Tony's was listed on the voucher, but I did not see the issue of using it for DINNER addressed. We have successfully used the VKL vouchers at the Rainforest for an early dinner(5:00-ish), but I did not realize I could do the same at Tony's. We do Tony's every trip, but only for lunch as the price does go up for dinner.
