My daughters school is planning a class trip to Washington DC (we are in SC) - I went three years ago with my oldest daughter but the world was in a better time. She is 13 now and still talks about that trip. It was so much fun and we saw sooo many sites that she can now relate to when she sees news about them. Now I have to decide what risk I will be taking to go in March. I feel there is always risks no matter the time or place.

What would you do? Sign up for the trip or say NO WAY are we going to Washington DC!

Go!

We went as a family last year specifically BECAUSE of what was going on in the world. It was a great trip and the kids (9 & 6 at the time) actually really enjoyed it too!

Well, since I live here in Washington, D.C., and my kids go to school here, I would obviously say come visit! :)

If anything, we are safer here than we were before 9/11. Security is much tighter than it was prior to 9/11, although some tours you may remember before have since been closed to the public.

I say go!!

I think the terrorists attacks have reminded all of us that we have always been "at risk", we just didn't think about it as much as we do now.

I think now would be a wonderful time to visit DC and learn more about our country. :)

Have fun!
