I am having a hard time trying to decide when to go next year- please tell me what you would do. I will be (hopefully) teaching school beginning in the Fall. So, I will have to stick to school schedules for the first time ever. So, my choices are either Spring Break- which for us is Good Friday and then the next week- APRIL 2-11. Or, we could go as soon as we get out of school- that's May 21st, but I'm not quite sure if teachers get out the same day yet. If so, then we could leave that Sat- the 22nd and stay for about 10 days. I know crowds would be bad for April due to SB- but what about summer crowds, too? And of course, I realize points are way higher in April. But, I'm thinking it won't be as hot, it's mine and DHs 10 year anniversary (we disneymooned) and I'll want a break! I'm also not sure if I'll have summer stuff for continuing ed and all yet- yep a lot of unknowns, I know. But if we do April, I'll need to book before I'll find out all that stuff. Thanks in advance!

After reading some of the posts about the crowds this week and MK having to close due to crowds I would not go near Disney this time of year. We were at the Poly 3-19 - 3-26 and it was crowded but nothing like it is now.

There are some places you can look up projected crowd levels. (Is it Tourguide Mike? Allearsnet?) And check the boards for what might be going on the time you're thinking about--see if any sports or other event might be adding to the crowd levels.

I agree with PP regarding the crowds this week. I wouldn't go for either the week before or after Easter. We've often gone in May and it's been lovely. Even when we've gone around Memorial weekend, we've never experienced what's happening at the MK this week. It's closed twice so far, level 4 and here's it's only Wednesday.

Yes, it's warmer, hotter, but still, I would go in May, June or anytime, but not around Easter.

I know I just said "no" to Easter, but really, how would you want to spend your time? Do you want a break from school, not necessarily out to do all rides and parks, but just enjoying the break the resort etc? If you would be happy not doing an extensive park trip, that may be just what a first year teacher needs in April! I'm thinking about my first years teaching...breaks are great!...Think about how you would handle the crowds. It may be that April is best for your "mental health!"

the spring break here has some teacher workshops too.

is there anything in fall - does your school system have a fall break?

then how about Thanksgiving - do you get off the entire week?

Thanksgiving can be bad too - but it is more like summer than Easter, Palm or Christmas week - and the weather is better.

We are also planning for 2010 and are going to have to follow the school schedule, so I'm right there with you about debating on whether or not to go in early June (when school gets out) or November (Thanksgiving) or December (over Christmas break). We'll be cruising in September of this year, so I don't know if June will give us enough time between Disney trips to really want to go again, so we may just opt for November or December and hope for the best. Since we've been to WDW so many times, I've changed my touring style to more quality than quantity, so we may be okay in terms of crowds. Also, the parks are so incredibly beautiful when they are decorated for the holidays. Also, since 2010 will be our first DVC experience, I really want to take the time to enjoy our home resort. We'll see - - but I know if we opt for June, I'll need to be making a decision very soon.
