okay - trying to decide between the two and I can't?

have anyone stayed at either recently?

I've stayed in both. Fairfield is a tiny bit nicer, as in more modern. That being said, if you are going to the parks all day and are just needing a place to sleep, I would pick the Trop. The location can't be beat. After a long day in the parks, it'a nice to not have that last long block to walk on your way back to your room. Plus it is clean, and the rooms are a good size.

If memory serves me right most Fairfield Inns serve breakfast. Does Tropicana? That was always an important factor for my crew. Me personally I prefer whatever property is closest to the parks and I'll grab a coffee at Starbucks, but everyone else wants eggs, etc. in the mornings before hitting the parks.

I enjoy staying at the Fairfield, owing to the closeness to the Main gate area. It it is a nice hotel, offers a Pizza Hut Express on the 4th level (if I remember correctly), you can also get a quick breakfast there.

We have stayed a number of times, and will be there again in November. There is a McDonald's next door, and a sandwich place (Panera) in front of the hotel.

Fairfield Inn Anaheim does not serve breakfast nor does Tropicana however both have quick options close.

Honestly both are motels with Fairfeld just being more modern and a Marriott property if that matters most. They do have "themed rooms" for an upcharge and "resort view" but typically the base rate is so much higher than closer properties we out not to stay.

Ive stayed at Camelot Inn recently , Tropicana's sister property and it was wonderful.

Fairfield Inn has McDonald's and Panera closet. Tropicana has The Cove ( their own store/coffee shop) and IHOP/Denny's are close too.

Never stayed at the Fairfield but we often stay at the Tropicana. The location can't be beat. It's quiet. Beds are comfortable. Military rate is very good.

Oh and they have a fridge so we bring stuff for breakfast and just eat as we are getting ready in the morning.

Another thing about the Tropicana is that if you're staying for 5 or more nights you can save $20/night off your room rate which is nice.

I stayed 4 nights at Tropicana in June and thought it was fine. Fairfields are generally nice enough although I haven't stayed at that one. We have stayed at BWPPI as well and I thought the beds at Tropicana were fairly comfortable. The location is great...directly across the street and slightly to the left. I would stay there again.

We also stayed at Camelot recently. It went well. We're staying further away this time with food included at the Homewood suites Same price.

We used to stay further away but now hubby and I just like the convience of popping back midday for a break. While I love the idea of Homewoid Suites and think it's a great option for many we lose so much time getting back it negated for us the other "perks". Typically our trips at only 2-4 nights so maybe if it was more spread out we would consider it.

Now it's walking distance or nothing lol.
We got the Camelot Inn for $116/night on Disneyland Marathon/ Labor day weekend so couldn't complain !

That's really good price. We just need the suite for the kids to sleep. So if it's the same but includes food the cost of the food is the walk/shuttle!
