Hey there, so we are planning on Dec 2013 with 5 adults and 3 children (4, 1 & 1)
We are torn between 3 resorts: (all 2 BR Villas)
BCV-we like location as we can walk to Epcot for dinners and Drinks, also the pool (if we even use it in Dec)
BWV-same as bc, the location and the price is same as BC
AKL-We really like the look and feel of this place and we would recommend Jambo due to quick service restaurant.

My question is we're are the 2BR value villas located at all 3. And a little input on opinions. Thanks

With 5 adults and 3 kids, my choice would be AKV Kidani or BLT, preferably a dedicated 2 bedroom. You'll have 3 bathrooms, the others only have 2. A dedicated 2 bedroom would have a king bed in the master, 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom, a queen sleep sofa, single sleeper chair in the living room. Plenty of room for everyone. BWV would only have a lockoff 2 bedroom, which would be a king in the master, a queen sleep sofa, a queen & a double sleep sofa in the 2nd bedroom. Only 2 real beds. Most Beach Club 2 bedrooms are the same as BWV, some do have 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom but they are difficult to get. The only value 2 bedrooms are at AKV Jambo. You would have a king in the master, a queen & a double sleep sofa in the 2nd bedroom, queen sleep sofa in the living room. Again, only 2 real beds and 2 bathrooms.

I would do AKV Kidani or BLT also. That 3rd bathroom is priceless with a group like that. If you stay at AKV, the walk over to Jambo is not a bad walk, when you want to eat at the Mara. We have groceries delivered and eat in the room when we are at the resort, so we don't walk over often anyway.

I love AKL for many reasons, the extra bathroom, great restaurants.
The extra bathroom is only at Kidani, not at Jambo.

Are there value 2BR at Kadini or just Standard, Savanna and Club
Value villas are only at Jambo House. Concierge villas are only at Jambo House and there are only five two bedroom lockoffs (three savanna view - partially blocked by the roof - and two pool view). Concierge villas pretty much have to be booked exactly at 11 months out when booking starts for the day.

All two bedroom villas at Jambo House and BWV are lockoffs (combination of a one bedroom and a studio with the door between them open - none of them have two beds in the second bedroom).

Kidani only has savanna and standard view. Standard view at Kidani is pretty much parking lot. Jambo House standard view is pretty much pool view.

as pp say only Jambo House (AKV) has value

BWV has both standard and preferred (pref includes bw view)

BLT (not on your list) has standard, lake view and theme park view

vwl and bc are the same points - no matter where you stay in the resorts.

with little kids would want to be closer to the MK - so VWL or BLT. You can walk to MK from BLT. Monorail to EPcot.

All of these value rooms for that time of year may not be available even right at eleven months. They go very very quickly and you'll have to find an owner willing to work with you to be online at 7am when the booking window opens to get any of these rooms - even then, because people "walk" their reservations, you may get frozen out. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the owner charged more per point for the hassle of those rooms at that time of year.

A better choice, in my opinion, if the trip is predicated on having a value room and you can't afford a higher point option, for a non owner would be OKW - where all the rooms are point bargains, or offsite at Bonnet Creek.

The value rooms at AKV do go quickly, but standard and savanna are usually available at the 7 month window.

I assume you are not an owner and are planning a rental. In that case you need to set this up so you get a reservation 11 months out from intended date of arrival. Your desired period is "Dec 2013." Be aware that the highest DVC demand weeks of the year are in order: first week of December, Christmas week and second week of December. That means a number of things could disappear fast even at the 11 month window and that could include value and concierge 2BRs at AKV, and 2BRs at BCV, BWV boardwalk or standard view, and BLT standard view. Moreover, you should not assume AKV standard and savanna will be open at 7 months out particularly for that first week of Dec.
