Trying to decide between CB, YC or WLV?

Our family of five will be traveling to WDW mid-August and are trying to weigh the pro/cons of the CB, YC and WLV...we have stayed at WL and YC in the past but the construction at these three has me a bit nervous not knowing what to expect. I'd love to hear opinions to help weigh in on my decision. My DS are 5, 7, and 8.

Forgot to mention that the pricing isn't a deal breaker because it isn't much difference over the course of our stay...CB is a moderate so it does come in as less.

CBR is about to start a major construction project in May. I would not choose to stay there at this time. YC renovations will be ongoing in August and could lead to disruption, but no where near as bad as the project at CBR. VWL is scheduled to open the new villas in July. Construction should be nearly complete, if not done in August. That would be my choice of your 3

Thanks. I always think we'll stay at CB but once i weigh out option a deluxe with easier transportation options wins out. I didn't realize that construction would be major since I am not familiar with the resort.

Another question:

Any pro/con to staying in WL Villa as opposed to the WL itself????

In the Villas you will only have One Queen size bed, a pullout sleep sofa and a drop down bed. The WL rooms have 2 Queen beds and a day bed.
The Villa kitchenette takes up some space making the Villa living space smaller
Are you booking through Disney or renting points?
If you are renting points you will not have daily Mousekeeping, clean towels, replenished supplies etc If you are booking through Disney you will have daily service.

With 5 I believe that you will need at least a studio villa to stay at WL. The WL regular rooms only sleep four in either two queens or queen plus a bunk bed. You can get deluxe rooms that sleep 6 but these are more expensive and have CL access, AFAIK. WE have stayed in a similar deluxe room in the BWI and it was really nice. Two queens and a queen sleeper sofa.

WLV studios, if it is like the BLT, Poly studios and GF studios, will not have much storage space for clothes and stuff. Also, with all beds in use, floor space will be at a premium. It seems like there is more room to move around in the rooms, IMO. The studio will have a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, sink and coffee maker. Not much in the way of real cooking space, though. You do get the coffee maker and a fridge in the regular rooms. plus, you do have sinks in the bathroom that you can use.

WLV will give you access to free laundry facilities, but you need to stay in a one bedroom or better to get the laundry in your room.

All that said, I would choose WL out of the choices that you listed. Construction at the YC and CBR would keep me out of those.

Good luck!!

The Wilderness Lodge has a great boat to the Contemporary, from which you can walk right over to the MK. Starts at 6:45am. That's the killer feature on top of wonderful theming, imho.

Just for room configuration alone, I would choose YC. You will get 2 queens and a day bed. In a studio at WLV, you will have 3 people sleeping on pull-out/pull-down beds and the rooms are small. I would take CBR out of the equation - there will be major construction there. The room refurbishments at YC are supposed to be done by the end of June, so I don't think YC is a bad choice.

Thank you! All of these answers are great thinking points to bring up with DH!!
