Trying to decide best hotel room with two little kids

We love AKL and have stayed quite often. Maybe we've been lucky but transportation has always been quick. I understand it's removed but it's also very peaceful in the evening. I've always rented points and it makes the 2 bedroom much more affordable.

We will have our car. I’ve never stayed at either of those, I think I read OKW doesn’t have elevators? That wouldn’t work with us needing a stroller. I do feel AKL is out of the way but we do like the savannah. There weren’t many options available when we booked
OKW is mostly just two levels, but if your car is outside your door you dont need to even bring the stroller up really (just like you wouldn't at your own house). I had a 9 month old there for a week on the second floor and had no issues with the stroller.

My first born is a sound sleeper, the second one is the lightest sleeper ever. Granted we were well beyond the bottle feeding stage when we traveled with both of them the first time. We did a Poly resort room and it worked fine for us.

Personally I think a 2 BR for 2 little kids (or even 2 resort rooms) is overkill but that's just me. Now when they get to be tweens/teens and travel with an entire suitcase full of product....that's a different story.

I ended up booking a 2 bedroom villa at bay lake tower. The extra space I think really helps us because the littles are very light sleepers and early to bed type. Our first stuck to her schedule even when we traveled with her all over the country. Not sure yet how the baby will be but she’s much more of a light sleeper than her sister.

Booked my first AKL stay for the December holidays. I’ll be traveling with DGD and her sister who is still in the character admiring age. Thought about some of the value hotels for their theming but too far away for my mindset. AKL seemed like a perfect compromise btw my needs and the childrens’ plus it has some nice restaurants.

Best restaurant's on property. Have a great time.

My two cents......I would switch to a one bedroom either in MK or Epcot area or RIV. WHY? The convenience of being able to keep your children in the stroller going from park-to-room cannot be underestimated. Each location has pros/cons and offers many dining options. Keeping your stay at DVC will give you that full fridge and washer/dryer which will be super convenient with such young kiddos.

I believe you are over-thinking the need to keep the littles separate for sleeping. By the time you go on vacation, I assume your 1 year old will be eating more solids and thus more likely to sleep through the night. If not, your 3 yr old will probably be so tired it won't matter. I would definitely start "training" your children to sleep with a sound machine (assuming you don't already). It greatly helps the bedtime routine training your body and brain to relax with that sound and provides noise-cancelling qualities.

If you want to save even more money, I would suggest getting 2 rooms at CBR and ask for connecting. Once your rooms are assigned, DO NOT open the doors to see if they are connecting. Go straight to the front desk and ask if they are connecting. If they are not, request to be reassigned. They will be much more accommodating if you have NOT entered the rooms yet. WHY? Because if a guest opens the room door, the housekeeping staff will have to revisit the room and sign off before it could be reassigned to another guest. Housekeeping is often not available or doesn't have the time to do this late in the day when rooms are being released to guests as they have such a busy schedule.

CBR has great pools and waterplay areas for kids and a huge playground. The skyliner access is a gamechanger and gives you even more dining options beyond CBR and RIV.

Ok so I changed some stuff up. We are now doing a split stay at riviera in a 2 bedroom and animal kingdom lodge in a 1 bedroom. Going to try and make the smaller space work to save some money and both rooms had discounts. I know a lot have the kids all in one room but I feel like maybe our kids are more difficult lol idk we’ll see

The 2BR at Riv are nice. And honestly if your kids are light sleepers, you wouldn't want to be anywhere near the electrical water pageant or fireworks (not sure what time you were planning on going back to the room).

That’s why I ended up switching out of bay lake. They go to bed around 7pm and originally I figured the 8pm fireworks would be fine but then realized the Christmas party is happening most of the days we are there so it’ll be at 10pm. Without even a theme park view room to see them we’d just hear the noise

We were Poly Theme View and during EEH, the boat kept me up all night long. My kids on the other hand slept through it (even the one who never sleeps)

Those boat horns can be really loud! I’m a super light sleeper my first isn’t really but my baby definitely takes after me. Any little noise wakes her up.

No matter which bedroom configuration you decide upon you should look into getting a "slumber pod". They fit over a standard port a crib and make a black out sleeping space, you can get a fan to go inside also. They're a great help when traveling with babies, especially light sleepers!

Thanks I’ll look into getting that!
