Arghhh! Just tried to top up my Post Office Travel Money Card, to no avail. To cut a long and boring story short, my Natwest Visa Debit card isn't 'compatible' with the Post Office's system and I won't be able to use my TMC. So, I'm in a bit of a pickle. It's too late to order another card (the FairFX equivalent takes 7-10 days to arrive). I don't really want to take loads of cash with me. Any suggestions?! :(

Travelex Cash Passport :confused3

That will take about 7-10 days too. I would go with travellers cheques. I always use them and have never had a problem. If you are going somewhere you think may not take them, cash some at your resort front desk before you go. I have used TCs in Premium Outlets and the only place that said they would prefer not to use them was Gymboree, but they took them anyway as I didnt have enough cash one me.

I have just checked with travelex.co.uk, you could actually ored a new Cash passport and collect it as early as tomorrow if you wanted. I put in a date of 23rd August and was able to get as far as the payment page.

Even the Cash passport website says they can deliver to your home in 3 business days.

That's good news. I didnt' know that. Maybe they have an express delivery option?

How about using travellers cheques to pay for an allowance on your KTTW and use that instead of taking cash round to, at least, Disney parks. :goodvibes

Thanks guys.

I looked into the Travelex Cash Passport but I wouldn't trust it to arrive on time now. There isn't a Travelex shop at Manchester Airport so I can't pick one up there. Very annoying as it seems like a good option! I don't really like the idea of travellers cheques. They just seem awfully old-fashioned and I've heard that some places don't even accept them anymore.

Sigh. I might have to just take cash. As a last resort, I'm going to try to load my TMC with physical cash rather than my debit card at the weekend. Hopefully this will work. :confused2

Just poking around the web it does seem you can top up at a branch so yes, you should be able to take cash to a post office and just add it there.

Fingers crossed for you!

How did you get on today? Maybe holding off is a mixed blessing - it looks like the rate is definitely up. :)

I haven't done it yet. I'm going to the Post Office tomorrow morning, so hopefully they'll be able to load my TMC with physical cash. :thumbsup2

Well, I took my wad of cash into the Post Office on Saturday morning and had it loaded onto my card. It takes a couple of days to process so I checked the balance last night... the money is officially there! :yay:

And with 2 days to go, you can really start dancing now! :dance3::dance3::dance3:
