We are driving to Orlando/WDW via I-95. Of course the Daytona 500 will be the day we arrive to that area. I am looking at alternate routes to I-4 from I-95. One option I see id LPGA Blvd to 92 to I-4. For those who are familiar is this a viable alternative?

I do not know what these side roads will look like congestion wise w/traffic. In the past once we are headed West on I-4 it is good , just getting to that point can be brutal..

We have tried going over to Gainesvill and coming down through Fla but that was actually worse! Unfortunately we really cannot get there the day or night before.

Thanks for any help.

When I-95 gets backed up, the backup can be further north than LPGA Blvd too meaning you could get stuck before you even make it that far. If you don't want to go via Ocala and the Turnpike, the only other route I can think of is US 17 south from Jacksonville/Orange Park through Palatka and Deland. But you might just be best off taking your chances with I-95.

What time of the day will you be coming through the Daytona area?

We are leaving from Brunswick Georgia (after starting in NY the day before), so I am thinking about 11:00am Sunday morn.

BobK-I am trying to recall last year-traffic was bad but not as bad as going to Daytona coming up I-4. I do recall thinking,"Oh-we should have gotten off at LPGA Blvd and taken side road to I-4, but I really don't know what that will be like-do people park campers along that area. If so that may be worse.

Does 17S have lights and very local streets?
