Never done this before and am thinking about it for our anniversary. Our anniversary is June 28. I want to go to WDW on our anniversary ( because my husband and I LOVE IT).But, I don't EVER want to go and spend a vacation there in the summer. So, thinking of going for one day. We'll be visiting my dad in Merritt Island. I looked to purchase a park hopper ticket for that day. I want to do 4 parks in 1 day. Never done before. It looks like they don't sell 1 day park hopper tickets. Is that true or am I missing something?

You can definitely get one day park hoppers, when you're on the ticket page you'll pick the number of days and when you select 1 a calendar will pop up for you to select which day since the new flex pricing, then you'll select how many tickets and then the last section gives you the option of choising MK only, HS/Epcot/AK only or a park hopper.

Be aware that the one day park hopper pass can be blocked out from MK. The CM blockout dates in June are few and far between this year but I just want you to know that it can also happen with the one day park hoper passes on extra crowded days

No. It has to be all 4 parks. I can't just go to 3 parks and not go to MK. That would be like getting your picture made with Snow White and only 6 dwarfs. Should I plan to go to MK first then? That was going to be my last stop.

what you would need to do is figure out what you want to do in each of the four parks. For June 28th the hours are: MK - 9am-10pm, Epcot - 9am - 11pm, DHS - 9am-8:30pm, AK - 9am-8pm. Your best bet would be to start in MK, go to DHS or AK, and end in Epcot. Keep in mind that transportation to each park could take 30mins to an hour. I am hoping it will be more on the 30 min side. you would basically have about 2 hours in each park. Once you add in travel time, bag check, bathroom breaks, meal break or breaks....

it has been done before and what an awesome way to spend your anniversary! And you are only about an hour away so that's not bad either.

Oh don't get me wrong, IU wasn't saying that it would be ok for your plan if you missed one park. I was just letting you know that blockout dates are possible. If they're going to block you out, itll be all day so it doesn't matter if you go in the morning or night. Again, this shouldn't be an issue but its possible.

I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about with blockout dates. I thought I first you meant a capacity closure, which I wouldn't expect on June 28th. Otherwise when purchasing a ticket, especially now when for a 1 day they have you select which date you plan to use it, any blackout dates should be outlined before purchase.

June 28th is DW and my 25th wedding anniversary! We'll be in MK doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Maybe we'llc see you.

:rotfl2:Why would they block me out if I get to MK when they open? I guess I'm maybe thinking of park capacity as well. How far in advance would I know?

That's an idea. I've always wanted to do that tour and said we would when we don't have the kids with us. How long does it last? I probably can't do it because DH will want to ride rides. My favorite park is MK. His is HS. It's our 19th anniversary.

The only blackout dates I'm aware of are for discount tickets- CM, Florida Resident and I think some military have blackout dates but they are clearly outlined ahead of time. Its possible there's something new I don't know about but I have no idea what that poster was referring to and have never heard of MK specific blackout dates for park hopper tickets.

Is 30 min to an hr driving our car to the parks, since there is no other way to get there since we're not going to be staying on site this time? I've told myself I'm not going to do bag check this time. Have always wanted to skip that.

DH and I will be celebrating our 42th wedding anniversary this June 28. We started our relation with Disney back then. Drove and camped from NJ, across country, and ended up in Disneyland for our Honeymoon trip. Although we've never been to Disney on our anniversary, we've had many great vacations there with just us, our children and now the grandkids. Next trip is April 10 with 10 of us. So enjoy your day!!

If I read this right, you're asking about travel time between parks? You can use the buses, monorail or boats between parks, no matter whether or not you are staying on site. There's a bit of science to deciding when to drive yourself vs when to use Disney transportation for maximum efficiency. The Transportation Board here on DIS might be the best place to get advice specific about that.

:tink:Congratulations We've never been by ourselves. That's our goal is to go some without the kids and some in the future with grandkids.

If you're driving between the parks, I can't imagine the actual drive taking more than 20 minutes between any two parks. We always drive when we go to Disney, and it's rare that we've taken more than 10-15 minutes between parks. But then, we go at historically "quieter" times than June, so maybe the traffic has an impact in the higher season - I'm sure if someone else has personal experience, they'll chime in.

In short, it doesn't take long, once you're in the car, to hop between parks. The extra time comes in waiting for a tram/walking to your car out in the lot, dealing with the TTC outside Magic Kingdom, parking in the new lot, and then walking up to the next park's gates. Not a hideously long time, but definitely enough to make a difference in your day, I'd say. You can't just decide back by Muppets 3D in Hollywood Studios that it's time to move on to the next park and expect to reach let's say Animal Kingdom in 20 minutes from that point.

That said, it's totally do-able to hit a few highlights in all 4 parks in a single day. I know I've seen other threads here from people who've done it. Choose a top-priority ride or two, maybe a snack location you must hit, etc, for each park. You can start and end in whatever parks you like best, but to maximize your time, and since you said you want to end in MK (for Wishes, I assume?), I took a look at easywdw's crowd calendar/park recommendations for June 28th. He's got EPCOT listed as the not-recommended park, so that's actually where you probably want to start - early, at 9am rope-drop, hit the things you most want to hit there before the park fills with crowds. From there, you can choose equally, I'd say, between Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Either of those would be a good place to book your FastPasses for the day - if you want to ride the headliners (Toy Story Midway Mania, Tower of Terror, etc) at Hollywood Studios, that's where I'd use them, if I were you. Once you've done your must-dos at those parks, head over to MK for the night. It's the most-recommended park, though granted, it's a busy day overall, crowd level 8 out of 10. You can finish your evening with the Celebrate the Memories and Wishes at MK, which sounds lovely and romantic for an anniversary.

By starting at EPCOT and ending at MK, you do have the option of leaving your car parked in a single lot and using the Disney buses to get around, if that's something you'd prefer. (I'd rather drive and not have to worry about waiting for a bus on a busy day, but lots of people love the Disney buses - totally up to your preference). Just take the monorail from the TTC to EPCOT and your car at the end of the day, or park at the TTC early in the morning and monorail to EPCOT before rope drop, so your car's closer to where you finish your day. :)

If you want a sit-down meal at some point, pick which meal/park/restaurant ASAP and try to get a dining reservation for that day immediately. You may have to make a short list of choices to get one you really want at a time that's convenient, based on what order you choose for the parks. If you're happy to just fuel up on snacks and quick service stuff, then don't sweat it, just munch as you go. :)

You absolutely can do this, and I hope you have a fantastic time!

ETA: the reason I didn't recommend wrapping up at EPCOT is because it actually closes at 9pm, with EMH running until 11pm. Obviously, that's a perk for onsite guests only, so the extended time isn't helpful in your situation. And the park is likely to be very crowded because of those evening EMHs. Plus, you said you wanted to end at MK. :)

Blockout dates are typically scheduled and based on projections. Yes they can close the park and not let anyone in when they reach capacity but these are not the same thing.

Keys to the kingdom tour is approximately 5 hours. It includes rides on the Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion, lunch at Columbia Harbor House, backstage stuff, and a look at the utilidors. We're taking the 830 am tour on the 28th

Wait, what!?!? Military tickets have block out dates!?!? What say you!?
