I don't know why I never thought of this. And I don't know why no one else did either. But DFi and I were just at dinner this evening and he brought up the point that what if people can't book rooms. I've never, ever had a problem booking a room even just a month out so I didn't think of it. Our wedding is in early February (before mid-winter break) and I'm sending out our invitations at the beginning of October. I didn't think about it, but is four months not enough time to give people to book rooms? DFi just made me really panicked about it. What do you guys think? Also, it's not like no one knows what's going on or where we're going... we've had extrodinary verbal communication with everyone that we've invited (I almost look at the invitations as a formality.) I don't know, what do you guys think?? Put my mind at ease, or I guess, tell me I really screwed up, if I did! TIA.

i had the same issue, but was told that was the purpose of the room block, so that there would be rooms guaranteed for your guests...hope they weren't wrong about that...now i'm scared! my wedding is in jan, and i still haven't even sent save the dates!!!

I don't have room blocks. It's an escape wedding. Can I get a room block even though it's not a custom wedding? I understand my guests won't get the discount or whatever. But is there a way to reserve rooms to make sure everyone will have a chance to get a room? Or do you guys think I even need to worry? Is 4 months too short of amount of time to get a reservation?

We are having an escape wedding and i don't plan on sending our invites until 2 months out. I did send a newsletter a long with a save the date magnet though. i will be sending more newletters to keep my quests up to date. In the newsletter I just gave information on tickets and rooms and recomended places for people to stay and gave a little info and fun facts about disney.

I wouldn't worry about people not getting rooms. Sometime fiance willl get a few days off and we'll go down on a whim and I can call 2 days beforehand and get a room -- even in peak season. It may not be at my first choice hotel but it's always at something in the same price range. You should be fine.
