Hi. We (my mom and I) are planning a trip to WDW for Oct 2016. As we plan our ADRs though, we've got a list of old faves and no new experiences. The one place we are willing to discard is Biergarten (we love the atmosphere and German food but we can get German food at home).

This leaves three places in Epcot we've never been: San Angel, Marrakesh, and Monsieur Paul. I'd love to hear your experiences at these places and whether they're worth giving up Biergarten.

About us, I'm more adventurous than my mom so we try to strike a balance. And our one must-have ADR for every trip is lunch at Chefs de France (though we're not opposed to eating two meals in France, or more than two).

Given you are going to Chefs, I would choose San Angel! Great atmosphere!

I agree on this.

Marrakesh may be too exotic if she is non-adventurous. I have been avoiding it due to certain children not being too adventurous. It is my one holdout in EPCOT. M Paul I have not tried, but we went twice when it was the Bistro.

What did you eat at San Angel? My mom wants to go for the atmosphere but her interest in Mexican food is chips and margaritas.

What is the inside of Marrakesh like? She has been interested in Moroccan food since I visited there a couple years ago but is afraid the atmosphere isn't as exotic especially if we get a table towards the wall. Does anyone know if the food there is authentic or Americanized?

Which San Angel? They're both attractive, though the foods are of two different styles. I find the service has always been top notch at La Hacienda (ask for Esmeralda), and I probably like the entrees there a bit more, but the menu is more limited than it is at San Angel Inn.

If you go to SAI when they open for lunch, it's easy to get a table by the water if that's what you want.

We tried Marrakesh a few years back and were just not fans of it. The atmosphere was nice though, with the dancers and such. IMO if she's not an adventurous eater it might not be the best choice.

We had a great meal at San Angel, but it was many years ago. They have pretty basic grilled steak or chicken if you're not really adventurous. They have the best margaritas on the planet, because they come from the adjacent La Cava, so if margaritas are your mom's thing, order her a few and she might not care so much about the food! ;)

We haven't tried Monsieur Paul, but honestly, the menu doesn't do anything for me. Les Chefs looks way better. Marrakesh was okay, I personally prefer San Angel.

I go with Monsieur Paul.

Have you been to Spice Road Table yet? Since you are going to be there during F&W, you can still do your ADR and order a bunch of the small plates instead of entrees in case you end up not really in the mood for a full meal. If your mom doesn't like something, just order another small plate, or if she really likes something order a second plate of it.

Thanks for the responses. San Angel seems to be a favorite in the pyramid. Unfortunately, we haven't been to these three restaurants for a reason as the food isn't our favorite. But we do like to try new things and like a fun 'disney' atmosphere.

Of the three, I would go to Monsieur Paul. The food and service are excellent.

Marrakesh is really bad. We've been here a few times in the past and just can't stomach it ever again. For better Moroccan food, try Spice Road Table.

The food at San Angel is also quite bad - tasteless, greasy. La Hacienda was a little better.

Have you ever considered heading out of EP and eating at one of the EP resort restaurants? As soon as you get out of the park, the food gets better!! For great food, I would try bluezoo at the Dolphin. If you like sushi, Kimono's is excellent. We also like Il Mulino and Trattoria al Forno.

We love San Angel. It was a favorite on our last trip

Of the 3, I would choose San Angel for 2 reasons, food and atmosphere. I cant speak for Monsier Paul, but Marrakesh was a less than stellar experience for us. The food was just OK.

It seems Marrakesh has few supporters. We have tried some resort restaurants (including bluezoo which I loved) but have often debated trying these three but haven't actually done it. I'm thinking Monsieur Paul may be the 'safe' choice as I'm sure the food is good though it doesn't have the disney atmosphere of eating in the Mexican pyramid. Though we always go to la Cava

The Dis unplugged podcast is scheduled to do a review of San Angel Inn this coming Tuesday. They do a very thorough review, usually trying most of the items on the menu. They also include photos. Luckily, non of the eateries you mention run out of ADRS. I would wait and watch the review on Tuesday.

Review starts at about 48:46 mark in video
