trying again: anyone know exactly how many BWV standard view rooms there are?

well, i tried searching, but couldn't find this answer.
i think this question must have been asked a million times, but i figured i'd ask again.

does anyone happen to know the exact number of rooms at BWV that are designated standard view?

specifically, i was wondering about the breakdown... i.e. how many std view studios, how many std view 1-bdrms, how many std view 2-bdrms. (are there std view GVs?)

anyway, please reply if you happen to miraculously have this information.
the closest this board seems to have gotten to an "answer" is that std-view is 20% of total. not a very useful figure if we don't know the breakdown... *sigh*

oh gosh, InstImpres, at first i totally thought... oh wow! someone knew the answer!

but, the thread you linked to is NOT the info i wanted... it's just a general breakdown of all the DVC resorts. it doesn't talk about what i'm asking about... which is the breakdown of standard view rooms at BWV.
heh, the funniest thing is i was one of the people providing info in that other thread!

anyway, so my question hasn't been answered yet. does anyone know?

OK, I have absolutely no idea if this is right (disclaimer ). But I asked this last year when I called to book a standard BWV studio. The CM said that there were only 15 standard studios. I didn't ask how many standard 1BR or 2BR.

Seems to me that I've seen other numbers quoted on these boards before. That's why I'm not sure if the number 15 is even right.

It's odd that it's so hard to get one consistent solid answer for what seems to be such a simple question.

Anybody else have an answer?

The only answer I ever got from MS was that standards make up less than 10% off the available rooms.

I just sent this note to MS -

"There has been great debate over the rooms at BWV. _We have the following as the breakdown:
97 Dedicated Studios
130 Dedicated 1Bdrm
0 Dedicated 2Bdrm - 149 Lockoffs
7 Grand Villas = 383 Units / 532 Max. Available Rooms

Could you possibly help us and break down further into standard and preferred view numbers."

I'll let you know what I get back.

Below is the answer to my e-mail to MS (they were very quick )

Hello Sandy:
About the only further numbers I can give you are these:
Standard View
Studios _22% of total 241 studios
One Bedrooms _23% of 272 total one bedrooms
Two Bedrooms _25% of 145 two bedrooms



It seems these numbers don't match with the original posting I had saved and than reposted!

Assuming that the numbers e-mailed to InstImpres are correct, we get the following breakdown, with rounding:

2-bedrooms (145 which can all be split into a studio and 1-bedroom, correct?)
- 36 standard
- 109 preferred

1-bedrooms (127 dedicated)
- 27 standard
- 100 preferred

studios (96 dedicated)
- 17 standard
- 79 preferred


oops - I forgot the 7 grand villas, they're all preferred

hm... InstImpres, those numbers you got back are close to our original numbers.

(btw, a big thank you for emailing MS about this!)

doing some math to summarize our original #s:
97 Ded Studios + 149 Lockoff Studios = 246 Studios Maximum.
130 Ded 1-Bdrms + 149 Lockoff 1-Bdrms = 279 1-Bdrms Maximum.
and we knew there were 149 Lockoff 2-Bdrms.

so, comparing our #s to MS's response:

Unit.......... Our# ........ MS's #
Studio....... 246 .......... 241 (22% Std View)
1-Bdrm...... 279 .......... 272 (23% Std View)
2-Bdrm...... 149 .......... 145 (25% Std View)

i'm interested in where the original #s posted by Shamus came from, and why there is this slight discrepancy with the #s that MS is giving us.
the answer from MS seems close enough that it might be the real deal though!

it still doesn't make sense that MS can't give actual exact #s of Std View rooms. why only the percentages?

My guess it is has to do with the different lockoff options...who knows!
