Used Spirit once again from Detroit to Orlando, last week. They have new planes with very comfortable leather seating with just a little bit more leg room. I know as two of my sons are over 6'4! 
The flight down and back were the smoothest I've ever flown (I've flown a lot). Of course the weather was great and I'm sure the newer planes helped.
Only complaint I have is the Detroit terminal for Spirit needs some major TLC!! It doesn't even come close to the beautiful Northwest terminal.
And the best part was I only paid $176 pp rt and that included all taxes.
