Trusting Waitlist

So, I've never had to waitlist anything before now.

We are heading to WDW in October. I called at the 7-month mark and was surprised to find a BWV standard 1-BR available for 7 out of our 8 nights!

But the one night that was unavailable is smack in the middle of our trip. Bummer. So I've waitlisted it. I keep checking the member website to see if it's come through and so far no luck.

So, my question: Do you all "trust" the waitlist process? I know it's crazy of me, but part of me feels like calling back every day just to "make sure" it's not available. How stupid is that?! I know that people's waitlists come through all the time, but as the weeks go on and nothing has changed I'm getting nervous that we will be moving twice during our trip...

So, should I just chill and pray for the best or do you guys think that waitlist doesn't ensure me the best shot at the availability. I.E: should I be calling?

I have never called and all our waitlists (probably 6 nights total over the past few years) have come through.

I am heading down in October too. We have a savanna-view studio booked for two nights at AKV-Kidani, followed by 3 nights in a 1BR standard at BWV. The split-stay was planned, but I was hoping for our first two nights at BLT so I waitlisted for both a LV and a MK view studio.

I wish there was a way to actually see that the waitlist is indeed in place. I've read about people calling to check on the status of their WL only to be told that they don't have one.

In your case, I would probably call, at least to confirm that you have the waitlist. Then, I might call every couple of weeks, just to check. In my case, I am perfectly happy staying at Kidani. The only reason I would like BLT is to try out a studio. The 1BR's are too many points for my family and the studios are too small for the 4 of us in my opinion. This trip, it is just me and DSiL so a studio would be fine, plus we get to try out TOTWL. I just check the website. If I get it, great...if not, oh well...I love Kidani!

I would call occasionally to check on it. I have had waitlists "magically" come in as I am on the phone with MS. I have also called to check on availability to be told that I am not on a waitlist. So now I call every so often to make sure it is still there and check availability at the same time.

Hmmmmn.... is Oct. 20th one of your BWV nights by any chance? If it is and your waitlist comes through, maybe I'll get your 1-BR standard

Good luck to you. We are wl for a studio (preferred) at BWVs or BCVs for the last full week of Oct. Right now we have a studio booked at OKW and won't be disappointed because we love OKW but since we visit Epcot and HS most often we are hoping one of the wl comes through. Keeping our fingers crossed for us all! (Btw, I have never had a wl come through.)

We Just had some people in our party cancel their trip, so we wanted to go from a one bedroom to a studio, and got put on a waitlist for the studio, I hope our waitlist comes through so we can have more points for our December trip....
