We are doing trunk or treat this year (for those that have never heard of it we decorate cars and fill the trunks with Candy, so kids have a safe place to go on Halloween, we also have a booth with coffee and stuff for parents). My husband I are doing a Lilo and Stitch theme. Oh I should mention we are doing this for Cinema Church. We are part of launching this church which has the goals of changing the way CT views church, being what the church is designed to be according to the Bible, and bringing people to life in Christ. One of our big things in changing the way people view church is doing everything with excellence, and not settling for mediocrity. We want people to be blown away by our event and be surprised that a church did it, so they will want to learn more. Most churches in our area do things really cheesy. So my DH and I are going to try something crazy. We are going to make a beach scene out of sugar. We are going to have Lilo and Stitch (not made out of sugar) building a sand castle on a beach. The beach and the water wil be made out of poured sugar. If we can find a 3d Cinderella's castle mold then we will make the sand castle out of poured sugar too (we think Cinderella's castle would be a nice touch), other wise we will build a castle out of sugar cubes.
Sorry this is so long...my questions are:
Anyone with experience in sugar (esp. poured sugar) have any tips or advice, we've never done this before.
Anyone know where I can find a mold of Cinderella's Castle? I'm thinking a cake pan might be good because it needs to be big.
Thanks.
BTW: don't think I've posted on this board before. I'm Steph, I usually hang out on the trip planning boards.
