True or false..can't use Disney gift cards on site

I am so dumb!!! I just got back from my local TDS and exchanged my web certificate for a gift card thinking I could use it next week at WDW. Then I read somewhere on here that I can't use the card down there.
True? If so, I'll have to go back the 45 miles to the store and see if they will let me exchange it for disney dollars. I've read that the manager will have the final say in that. Help !

True, the gift card says 'Disney Store' gift card. Only good at Disney Stores or catalog purchases. I don't know about exchanging it. Maybe if you still have your receipt. I've heard you can't use the gift card to purchase DD either which I still don't understand. They don't expire though so if you can't exchange it you can always buy stuff later. I love the DS.
