TRU Rewards program has me confused (help!) UPDATED

Okay, I have spent quite a bit of money at TRU the past few months. I got the reward card in June or July and have had it scanned every time. I also linked the rewards # to my online account. When I go to check my rewards account it always says Rewards Dollars Earned $0 and lists X number of days left in period. If I then click on "View and Print my certificates" it still says "R Us dollars earned $0" for August, September, and October. If I do the button to show my activity however it shows all orders and purchases by date, shows the amount paid, the qualifying dollars, and then has a column that says Reward Eligibility and "most" of the items have a dollar sign in a green circle (I'm assuming the ones without the emblem mean I didn't earn anything on those purchases?) So....should I worry? That it shows all this info but then says I earned nothing? It does say something about an estimated available date of 12/15/10 - does that mean it won't tell me how much I've earned until then? Also, I thought they mailed them out but then I've seen where it looks like people print them out. Can someone explain this whole thing to me? The guy at TRU just gave me the cards, he didn't really explain the program (such as some things don't earn rewards and some things only apparently earn partial rewards....)

I am in the EXACT same situation. I'm going to call the 800 number tomorrow... :confused3

Same thing happened to me - turns out I had two accounts going. They combined them with no problem.

I find their program to be confusing as I easily spent over $1k on nursery items and Christmas (in a two month period) and only received a $5 reward coupon. It just didn't seem worth it. I still swipe my card at TRU and BRU but don't expect much form it.

Me too I have been buying like crazy the past few months to get a start on Christmas and they said its because the program started the week after I finished shopping so I am not entitled to anything unless I start to buy now. Keep us posted if they say anything different to you

you earn .5 point per dollar on sale or discounted items and nursery furniture, 1 point per dollar on full priced items. No points on diapers or formula, but those count towards the buy 9, get the 10th free deal with the card.

For every 150 points earned within the promotional period (usually a 3 month period) you will get a $5 coupon. Points do not carry over from one promo period to the next, so if you earn 149 points in one period you get nothing (yes, this happened to me last time :guilty:)

They were mailing them, but may be emailing them now...not sure. Best thing is to call the 800 number and get a person to go over it with you.

I'm really confused by it too! I have decided that 'if' I actually get an award from them that I'll consider it a bonus. Right now, they are saying that I'm getting $33 reward but I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh dear, I guess I'm calling the 800#. I really don't care but....I added up the qualifying dollars and they are nearly $350 so....that is $10 right? It just kind of irritates me that what should be simple (and is for so dadgum many stores - American Eagle for one) is like deciphering an algebraic equation :headache:

Since my purchases were ALL during the last "promotion dates" of 8/1 to 10/31 (and I have the printed out statement from their site to prove it) I wonder how they will haggle their way out of it? LOL I can't imagine that it is a 2 account thing - the cards I got physically when I set up my account, then before placing an online order I went and used the # on my card to set it up online, all purchases online and store show up on the one account (even the one from when the guy talked me into the card.) I just don't like them always asking if I'm a member, me giving them the card to scan, and then they can't even follow through on crediting me for the purchases they admit I made. If they don't make it right, that's ok, there is a Target 2 miles from them who LOVES to take my money (and I have ALL my receipts so maybe I'll just return every bit of it, go to Target and rebuy LOL)

Just to update: I got my rewards today. They came USPS in an envelope from Rewards R Us and it says I can use them 12/1 through 12/15. I had two $5 rewards and then it had four "exclusive" coupons good through 11/30 (so you can't "double dip" and use a coupon AND your rewards $ I guess?) all on one sheet. I don't need all the coupons (mine were for road rippers, kung zhu hamsters, and FP infant toys - anyone else get some, did everyone get the same??) It does have one for 15% off a docking station. I tried the one I bought DS before I wrapped it and it was nice, I may use the coupon and get one for DD as well.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that mine did come and the delivery method. Bottom line - not really worth it ($10 for over $300 worth of purchases) but I would've bought the items anyway and I did get them at good prices or with decent promos. Overall, I'm not disappointed but I placed a huge order at Amazon the other night and got free shipping with no tax so.... I saved nearly $30 in tax vs the $10 I got "back" on my TRU stuff. I guess it's good to have but I doubt I'll do enough shopping at any time but Christmas to really earn anything.

I'm not a fan of the program.

Last year we bought some stuff (xmas eve, I believe), and forgot to have them run the card. I went right back in, with receipt and card, and asked if they could add it. They said they were so busy, but I could do it myself online.

A week or so later I was able to find some time, and I went to do it, there's nowhere on the site to add it online, and I found out that the ability to do it online had ended pretty much on THE day the employees (one a manager!) told me to do it online.

So then I got them to add the purchases, but it didn't go retroactive to when the purchases were, and I missed out on the proper period, and didn't get any rewards.

I see no point to it. Not even sure I'll have them scan my card even if we shop there again. And shopping there is unlikely, b/c I've seen what they do with the prices on Legos (normal price, sale coming up, bump up the price, sale takes the price lower, but no lower than it was before the sale was impending). Sneaky.
