I've tried to check availability, but keep getting an error. Are they having trouble with the website?

I got in just now. Here's the link.

I just stayed there and it was wonderful. Can't say enough good stuff. Let me know if you have questions. :)

ETA: If you just can't get on there, email one of the Dreams Unlimited people. They might be able to help.

How close is it to Disney? Traffic congestion? We're concerned about getting a unit far from the pool/playground. We would like to stay on-site, but it's hard to pass up the price and amount of space at Dreams Villas!

BTW, still can't get a quote for June 2009. We are staying 10 nights, coming in on a Tuesday. Are there any restrictions on day of arrival? I know you must stay at least 7 nights.

Site is working fine now. John from Dreams Villas was very helpful and responsive to this issue. From my limited experience with them so far, they seem to be a first-class operation!

I didn't actually clock the distance, but the first couple days it took us a while to get there because we followed the "easiest way" directions.

When you get there, there's a handy-dandy packet of info. In it are 3 different ways to get to Disney. I think the easiest is also the longest. Once I followed the directions for the toll road, we got there much faster. It was a $.75 toll and WELL worth it for the time it saves. You have to have change to throw in the basket thingy - there isn't a booth with a person who makes change.

Once we used the toll road, it didn't take long at all. Seriously. We were in a parking spot at Epcot in 17 minutes. I added maybe ten minutes on to the time I'd allow staying in a Disney hotel. I'd heard horror stories about off-property traffic. I don't know if we were just lucky, but we had no problems. Sometimes it was busy, but never slow.

I don't know how close to the pool you have to be, but they say all the units are close. Ours certainly was. Really close.

You can't check in until four in the afternoon. I forget what time you have to be out but I think it was earlier than most - ten in the morning, I *think*. But for what you pay...worth it! We were going to a hotel at Universal, anyway and didn't care.

I was really, really worried about venturing off the Disney property. I sort of just trusted that the DIS wouldn't advertise a skanky place. But I was still a little nervous, because I have "issues" with trust.

I was so happy to find that it was super-clean. They even had little tablets for the dishwasher, so I got to take the ones I'd brought along right back home. Full bars of soap - shower size, not the kind you get in hotels. Paper towels. Plates. Everything. It was really like staying in someone's house - only no clutter.

And...free gifts!!! I loved getting free gifts. That was the BEST. In fact, it is the best thing I ever got checking in anywhere, even places where I was a VIP or on their list of people to give crap to. Two giant snaps up there!

It's super-quiet. It is so quiet that we couldn't hear each other without standing right by the stairs and yelling so we called each other on cell phones.

My only suggestion is to never, ever let the door close behind you without the key. We did figure out how to get the door to not lock you out (turn the little doo-dad to 3 o'clock) but then on our last day it locked us out. I asked the cleaning girl (who was THANK GOD there and let us in, bless her) and she said she never lets it close without a key. I don't know if your unit will have that feature or what...just a word to the wise. :)

I couldn't have been more relieved about the condition of the place or happier with it. And you really can't beat the price, especially for all that space.

Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby, including a Wal-Mart. Around the corner is Shell World, which I just HAD to go to. If you look in the Orlando-area pamphlets (and they leave some for you) there is a coupon for a free gift at Shell World, too. It's not as nice as the villa one, but I love me a free gift. :teeth:

I don't know about rates and stuff, you'd have to talk to them about it.

Have a great trip!
