I have heard from several people that they can not get the restaurants they wanted. Anyone else having the same problem ?

We've never, ever had any problems getting what we wanted. Some folks obviously do. There are so many factors that play into getting what you want, it's virtually impossible to predict what your experience will be.

Just be persistent.

I have never had an issue( well last year Le Cellier had one time available for my whole weeK). But several factors come into play. For those without Park hoppers that wish to dine at park venues, they need to plan park restaurants by park hours and best park days, which can sometimes not work out well and may require moving things around a bit..Also if free dining is going on you have alot more people booking ressies that would normally not do any TS dining.Plus party size does come into play as well.

Our visit was May 14-18. We called for ADRs and were told that both Spoodles and San Angel Inn would be closed at the time of our visit. We made other ADRs, though disappointed.

When we were finally there for the actual visit, we found Spoodles open after all. Thankfully the wait was not long and we were able to enjoy a meal there.

I never checked on the San Angel Inn - our time at the World Showcase was cut a little short. But I was very disappointed in ADRs telling us something that was not the case.

1) This is a "yes, but".
2) Yes - the above is true.
3) But - there is a new system, and it has a bias for who gets good ressies.
4) I am sure this will all come out very soon.
5) Hopefully, people will get very mad.
6) Very mad, in deed.

Called at 9o days , was flexible but got everything I wanted restaurant and time wise, got lucky I guess.

Care to elaborate...maybe a sneak preview?

Please Mr. Scupper! Please tell us! I think that counts as begging and pleading. How about a little hint???

I waited 30 days out and almost came up goose-egg for all the ones my wife and I picked out. However, the CMs on the phone (called twice) were incredibly helpful in making suggestive alternatives including the HDDR, two character dinners, and a character breakfast!

I didn't get what I wanted, but I did hang up the phone happy.

I have never had any problems with getting an ADR I wanted. There are many factors in availability but a lot of them you can control.

Put the harder to get restaurants toward the end of your trip so that less people have the availability to get it.

Take advantage of the 90+10 day rule.

The longer your trip the better: you have more days for more flexibilty and you have a bigger advantage when you book 10+ days.

Make ADRs for those harder to get restaurants first i.e. if you are needing to book Olivia's on the 22nd, Tutto Italia on the 25th and Chef Mickey's on the 28th, ask for the Chef Mickey's ADR before the other two when talking to the CM.

Most of the times were what I wanted, if not within 5 minutes and the occaisional up to 20 minutes off... including 3 Le Cellier meals, one dinner at 5:55pm and first seating lunch (we wanted lunch).

I do feel there is something odd going on this year with the ADR's. Maybe it has to do with the new system. I don't know. :confused3 All I do know is I've NEVER had so much trouble getting ADR's before. In the past, we've always been able to get what we want pretty close to the time we want. This year I called 90+10 and had to have back-ups for my back-ups. Lots of schedule shifting and that was 90+10 days out. Don't know what the poor people who don't plan obsessively and call right at the beginning of their window do!!
I know it's free dining and all but some of the restaurants, like CP, that I was trying to get and was COMPLETELY booked, are huge. How could it be completely booked right at 90+10???

I didn't get everything I wanted at my 90 day date, but I've called 2x since then, a week after, and got the 2 that I couldn't get at the 90 day mark. Since we wanted CM for DD's bday, we asked for that first. The only thing we couldn't get during our 10 day stay was the Fantasmic meal package. Oh well. We'd rather eat at the Boardwalk then stand in line with some treats.

This is the first year I had an awful horrible time at getting ADR's. I complained because it was so horrible! I tried to book Fantasmic dinner and was told that I could not because they don't know when Fantasmic will be in September. Then the CM took my credit card and told me that I had it booked for one day only to find out from another CM that this couldn't be true and they canceled the ADR??!! I think that 90 days out makes it so that too many are calling in a short window. At least at 180 days, you didn't feel like you HAD to call on the 180 day mark. It was more spread out and the calls trickled in. By the way, several popular places (Ohana, Coral Reef, Le Cellier, were booked for my entire stay for dinner at this at 7:00 a.m on my 90 day.

Come on folks, we gotta figure out this mystery bias. Could it be tied to where you are staying (The amount of money you are spending on the resort)? Maybe if you are on the dining plan or not? If we all put our heads together we can crack the magic code on the new ADR system. What about a poll like where are you staying, how long are you staying, dining plan or not, and were you able to get 'prime' ADRs?

I don't know but it seems like

1. Either he knows something and is playing a game with us
2. He has no idea and is just stirring the pot.

:confused3I couldnt get Ohanas - and a lot of my times are at off hours ex:dinner at 4:30 OR after 8:00pm

Well, we're staying at the BC for 8 nights and are on the dining plan (free dining that is). We did end up with mostly what we wanted but like I posted previously it was TOUGH! One ADR I still can't get what I want.:sad1: So if it's about the amount of money you're spending I should be able to get what I want right?! :rotfl: I think it's their lovely new ADR system that's messing everything up.

I have no hard evidence, but I think something is definately up with the ADRs. I have always been able to get reservations even at Easter time. Now all of a sudden everyting is booked solid despite this being "the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression".

hmmmmm....Well I wondered about this also. We just decided we are going to do a Disney vacation today. So when I called to get ADRs for the week of 7/19 - 7/25 I was prepared to not get everything I wanted. I ended up with 3 ADRs but I have never had a problem getting them before, even when I called on short noticed. The only time the whole week I could get O'hana was 7/19 at 8:20. Maybe I have just been extremely lucky all the other times I have called and been able to get most of the ADRs I wanted at a decent time. I wonder if it is tied into where you are staying? We are at SOG.

Awesome, now you all have me COMPLETELY freaked out. Most of my ADRs are ok to be whenever within a 2 hour difference but some of the really need to be around the time they are.

I don't really want to go to CRT or Donald's Safari Breakfast if it's after 8:30AM, I don't want to go to go to CM's if it's not breakfast.

There are restaurants that I really want to be the first seating because I know how crazy they can get.

Narcoossee's has to be on our last night because it's tradition.

I need Sanaa to be on the 26th for a late lunch because it's going to be my Expedition Everest Challenge fuel and we're staying at AKL for that night.

Only time will tell. I'd appreciate not having to wake up and call at 4AM more than I have to but I'll do it if it's necessary. I guess I'll just have to have some back ups.

Anyone know where I can bribe someone?
