Trouble getting a room 5/5 to 5/8

I will be down in Florida for some business, a family graduation and thought I would get some Disney in!

Well I thought I would have no trouble getting a room...The only thing I could get was at the Carribean Beach with one king bed. Then I said to myself....Why so crowded?...I looked at the calendar and saw that it was Mother's day on the Sunday.

Ironically I am bringing my mother who has never been to Disney and loves garening and flowers. I think she would love the displays at Epcot for Flower/Garden.

Any suggestions? Has anyone been down there on Mother's day weekend? How crowded is it?

Did you call cro or the web for your dates? I talked to cro on Saturday and there were some rooms at AKL (savanah view). I know the cm said that things were filling fast for that first week in May.

May 5th is when the big birthday celebration kicks off!

I went to www.disneyworld.com and I put in your dates and got several options-- including rooms in the value and moderate range-- I would call back again---

I spoke to a cm this morning and asked about availibility at AKL and WL and there were room available. Now, for AKL the choices were limited. All standard and pool view rooms were gone and savanah rooms were booking up. I'm not sure what's available at other resorts, but she said most hotels have rooms available.
