Trouble finding Entertainment rate --- anyone else have this problem?

I am trying to find a good entertainment card rate for March. I have tried many hotels "listed" in the entertainment book. These hotels are supposed to have 50% off rack rate, good any time, holidays excluded.

I am trying to book for March19-27. A few hotels have given me "Entertainment Rates" that are only a little off of rack rate, and MANY of these hotels are telling me they do not participate in the Entertainment Card (even though they are listed). What is going on?

I didn't think the book for 2004 is out yet. Some of the hotels in the 2003 book may not be participating in 2004. Other hotels may not have released the discounts for 2004.

They are supposed to have rooms available when they anticipate occupany to be less than 80%.

Are your dates during any holdiday?

I think it depends on who you talk to sometimes...

We are going in September, and the first three times I called, there were no rooms available. I called back a month later, and lo and behold, there were rooms, and plenty of them! Other times, I noticed that some staff at the hotels were more knowledgeable than others.

You also have to realize that the card gives 50% off the RACK RATE, which is the highest price there is, and very well could be inflated during the month of March because of Spring Break...or 10% off the promo rate they offer everyone else. Also, there are only a limited number of rooms allotted for this rate, so they sell out quick in the popular hotels, especially for your very popular time frame..
