Grand Floridian or Yacht Club? We are currently booked for GF at the end of September, but I'm starting to worry about construction. I also really like Yacht Club's location to Epcot and access to so many other resorts/skyliner, etc. They're the same exact price and I'm just conflicted. I know it's subjective, but I'd love to hear some pros and cons. And I know I may be in the minority, but Stormalong Bay pool isn't my favorite so that won't be a pro for me. Help me decide!

I just did Poly and had a great time but solidified that I am a Boardwalk area girl. Especially now that my kids aren’t toddlers and they prefer easy access to Hollywood Studios and Epcot over Magic Kingdom. So for me going forward, I will focus on the boardwalk hotels, preferably. However, like you said, it is completely subjective and I think regardless of where you stay, you’ll have a great time. I do also prefer the theme of the yacht club over the grand Floridian, but that’s again my personal preference. Have a great trip. Just. Log that I of

I just love all of the dining options and I'm really enjoying entering Epcot at International Gateway!! Our past 6 trips have been at Epcot/Skyliner resorts and I've gotten so used to the convenience! I think I've answered my own question! Haha! Thank you for your insight! I appreciate it!

Why not consider a split stay? Best of both worlds. 🙂

That's an option too, but we are only staying four nights and I worried that would be too much back and forth.
Oohh ok. I’d stick to one, then! I love the Grand, so I’ll always recommend it! The only construction right now is the main building. If you check out the GF Thread, you’ll be able to see some pictures. Good luck deciding!

I'm with you, love the Epcot resorts and entering Epcot through International Gateway. Of course, we love Stormalong Bay too, so that always helps our decision.

Yacht. The walking or boat access to IG is just SO nice. Unless you have most of your park time planned for MK, then I would stick with GF. You can see recent experiences on the GF thread, in general folks haven’t been that bothered by the construction.

I’m not a SAB fan either, YC has a lovely quiet pool complete with a hot tub (but you have to go to the main pool for bar access if that matters).

I wasn’t staying there but was recently around GF quite a bit. The reviews of guests staying even with constriction have been positive, but there’s just a lot of scaffolding and walls all over the inside and outside of the main building right now. And I mean a lot. I think it can still be a good stay, and maybe one of the cheaper times to stay at GF, but it’s certainly not in its prime. Brand new rooms are nice though!

Are you doing MNSSHP? Walking one or both ways is nice. Otherwise, I think i maybe lean YC.

I don’t really love Epcot access from GF. Often end up ride-sharing one leg just to break up the monorail transfer routine.

Can’t make a wrong decision here though, just subtle pros and cons.

I’ve stayed at both, and would vote Yacht Club. For us, Grand Floridian was nice, but did not excite us. monorail was nice for MK, but I found it annoying to change monorails at TTC. (We liked Poly better because we walked right to Epcot monorail at TTC.) yacht Club has such great proximity to Epcot.

It really depends on what “easy access” you’d prefer. If you’re attending a party or EEH at MK, I’d lean GF, especially if you have littles. If you’re planning for more Epcot/FWF and DHS time, I’d opt for YC. I personally like GF better (despite construction!), stayed there in June - the new rooms are stunning and larger than YC rooms, and the pool area less chaotic. But as GADisneyDad says, it’s a total pain to get to Epcot! I always Lyft there from the MK resorts.
