Ok i tried to search for info but my dis seems to be messing up, we usually go for places with free breakfast but I really want to stay close this time, my kids would be happy with cereal in the mornings, is there a store close to get bowls and cereal and milk? The parking fee wont matter to us because we arent driving, but any other places directly across the street you like better? We enjoyed park vue but as of now they dont even have rates up for next summer, and they also arent avail on getawaytoday.com

Call Park Vue directly and ask for their returning guest rate!

I've stayed at Camelot and best western park place inn. BW you often need to call direct. Online doesn't always show correct availability.

Tropicana has a little store in front. I'm not sure what all the have in there but there is a Walgreens and CVS right down the street where I'm sure you can get the things you need.

Tropicana has "The Cove" store. It's got lots of breakfast items, milk, juice, fruit, coffees, etc., as well as general things like any other convenience store. The prices are high, but not any higher than most convenience stores in the area. They also have lanyards and postcards and such.

I second this! It's a great store that, while higher than average, is cheaper than Disneyland's prices.

We liked Camelot which is just a hotel down. This is next to McDonald's for a quick, cheap breakfast. You may want to check on this one.

I have been considering that one too...i have never had such a hard time deciding where to stay, we stayed at stanford last time and we loved it but had a terrible time wih ART and long waits, so we are looking for closer

We really like the Tropicana. Our last stay was in December.
Close is so delightful at the end of a long day in the parks.

We stopped in at the Cove each morning for a bite to eat. I didn't feel their prices were that much higher than any other place around Disneyland.

If you are wondering what else they carry in the store, give them a call to see if they have what you'll need.

The pool was nice too. Being in the middle of the parking area didn't bother me.
We used the pool every day during our mid-day breaks and again for pool and pizza in the evenings.

Are the rooms pretty spacious? I really am looking at the suite even though there are only 4 of us, i didnt see a bunk bed option, is there not one?

Yes! The rooms do have a lot of space. The suite has one king bed and then two queens in the other room.

There is no bunkbed option; only a 2 queen room, 1 king room, or the Family Suite. We've stayed there probably 5-6 times now and have always enjoyed it. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff is always friendly. I would recommend the Camelot to anyone. Also, if you're staying 5+ days, there is a significant discount available on their website.

We had a regular room 3 adults. We had a crib in the middle of the 2 beds and one by the door. A big double stroller. Seemed standard size room. Also 2 huge heavy car seats by the sink/mirror area. We weren't squished in. It was fine. I don't think they have bunks. They have a family suite. $$

We can't stay there now because our kids don't sleep well. Sensory issues. We have to have a room with closing door. For the same price, maybe less for a week, we can stay at HomeWood suites convention center. That includes breakfast and mondays-Thursday dinners (with wine or beer).

If you go to McDonalds for breakfast beware that it's a 30 min wait usually.

Homewood is another I have looked at, its further away than i wanted but with the toy story lot next door it makes it not to bad

I'm so torn because I want to be across the st. But I am cheap & cant justify the comparable amenities.

Look at Desert Inn & Suites. It's just as close as the Tropicana, has a basic breakfast, and is usually pretty reasonable if you're booking a few months out.

We've stayed at both Tropicana and The Desert Inn and Suites...both are about the same in terms of proximity to the parks. Tropicana does have a store in the front which sold the little bits we wanted to pick up (water/drinks ect). We stayed at Tropicana a week ago and it seems they are having a refurb at the moment, we got a freshly renovated king room with was really nice.

I know EXACTLY how you feel lol we stayed at stanford last time, kids had their own room w bunk beds and breakfast ans it was super cheap but clean...but ART killed it for me..we always waited forever, the new homewoods would only be around 100 more than camelot and has breakfast and evening meals and its right beside toy story lot which is free and usually pretty quick to get on

We just stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms at the Tropicana last month. We had 2 adults and 2 kids, with 2 strollers and had lots of room.

We ordered groceries through Vons. Our room had a fridge that was bigger than I anticipated. We had no problem fitting 2 litres of milk, 3 things of berries, yogurt, apple slices, cheese string. We actually could have fit way more! We also had cereal delivered. I just packed some plastic bowls and spoons in our suitcase. There was also a microwave, so I kind of wish we had got some instant oatmeal also.

This was our second stay and we will likely stay again! The walk is so short.

We stayed at Tropicana in February. The location is great and the Cove is handy for buying breakfast items. I didn't think the room was the greatest. It was clean, but well-worn and not in good repair. There were a few annoying but not huge problems - bathroom door was hard to close, light switch didn't always work. The in-room coffee was just, ew. I might consider staying there again if the rooms were refurbed. In November, we're staying at the Homewood Suites and using the Toy Story shuttle for the first time. I like the size of the room (2 queens and a sofa) since our boys are adults and need their own beds. I'm also looking forward to the free breakfast, which gets good reviews.

I know you mentioned GetAwayToday but if you are interested in the Tropicana and are staying 5 or more nights you can get a better rate booking directly through the hotel. They will take $20/night off their regular rates, which is sometimes a bigger discount than GetAwayToday. It is worth checking on to see if you might be able to save yourself some money.
