Hi
We're trying to decide on a few hotels for a trip to DL June 12 to June 18
This will be for 2 adults and 2 young kids
Hojo is not available for those dates
We're looking at a standard 2 bed room in the Tropicana
I've not stayed here before and just wanted to check to see if any rooms are better than others ?
I hear some buildings have 2 and others have 3 floors
Is a higher floor room better than a ground floor ?
Is there a view of any kind ?
Noise considerations ?
Slow elevators in the mornings ?
Thanks for any help
Richard

We've stayed in the Tropicana once, two years ago and will be again this June. We requested and got the top floor. Elevator was fine. I always like the top floor because you don't have people stomping on your ceiling at all hours. There is no view to speak of... all rooms face the parking lot and swimming pool in the middle of the parking lot. But it's REALLY close to the park entrance! :)

rooms are a little small.
the location is great!!!! right across the street.
the staff is wonderful, they are nice, organized, and quick
I didn't have a problem with noise I was on the first floor about ten rooms down from the office/lobby.
even though the rooms were small they were very comfortable.
Don't believe the breakfast part, they charge, very little is for free and its gone quickly.
we didn't yse the pool so I can't comment on it
Did I mention the location was great especially at night when you are tired and have little ones. Just cross the street and there you are!
oh yes and the price was very good

Our stay was first week of August of 2010, we would stay again, and I recommend the hotel.

does anyone know what time the pool and spa stay open till? Also... do the rooms with balconies have any king size beds? sorry to hijack your thread OP. This little motel has gotten me excited to stay there. :surfweb:

The rooms on the left have internal corridors and tend to be quieter... Can't beat the location, we collected the danishes etc at breakfast and had them for lunch and bought cereal...

we've stayed at the tropicana twice and we are staying there again in may. the location is perfect! yes, the breakfast isn't all that, but it holds us over until we get into the park and are ready for a mid-morning snack. you can always call the hotel and request a specific floor, etc. i just called in and requested for a room close to the front of the hotel. we have 2 little ones as well and i don't want to have to push our double stroller any farther than we have to to get to our hotel room! some rooms do not have tubs, so if you do decide on the tropicana, make sure you call to request a room with a tub (for the kiddos).
