Tropicana Inn or Hojo?

Yup I've heard the Carousel is better when it comes to the breakfast. Shame they won't let you stay at the Tropicana and have breakfast over there. LOL They have it in a room with an awesome view of the parks too!

Hmmm might have to flip a coin on that, breakfast in the room sounds great especially with our drama eating out with the lil' ones. :dance3:
But then you mentioned that Tropicana has a nice view?

Thanks everyone for the expertise help!

The past two times we went (with 5 and 6 year old twins) we stayed at the Hojo - and were completely satisfied. The walk wasn't bad at all - and we passed a McD's and a restaurant on the way to the hotel. We would stop in at McD's and get an ice cream on the way home! I may have to check into the Tropicana beings you all LOVE it!

Having stayed at both Carousel and Tropicana I can safely say the breakfast is far superior at CI.
CI - Oatmeal, Toast, Apples, Oranges, Boiled Eggs, Danishes, Coussaints, Juice, Tea, Coffee
Trop - Coussaints, Danishes, Muffins, Juice, Coffee

The breakfast room at CI overlooks the park, the Tropicana breakfast room has no real view. The rooms at CI are little bigger and roomy, the fridge and Microwave at CI are also bigger and more practical. Tropicana has by far the better pool complex and of course the hot tub that CI doesn't have. I would stay at either again no problem but CI wins out for us.

We stayed at the Tropicana last week. We liked it a lot! The location was great , the rooms were decent, the breakfast was fine. We took our breakfast out of the complimentary room with no problems, they didn't say anything or even look at us funny. For the view, go with Tropicana, we were in room 377 and had the perfect view of the Matterhorn!! It was amazing to step onto the balcony and watch the fireworks! From room 376 it may have been possible to sit at the table in the room and see them! LOL The pool was great and the hot tub huge. I really recommend the Tropicana, it's a great place to stay.

Hi Pixiewings... We are heading back to DL in 2009 (Oh so far away...) Was you room one of the ones along the front or did you have one on the top floor at the back? Was your room a standard one or a suite with kitchen?

Tropicana is closer and we stayed there with our two kids and had a great time. If you don't want to stay at the BWPPI, Tropicana is a great next choice.

Have fun!!

Both you can take back to your room, but it's the CI that has the fantastic view. No great view from the Tropicana unfortunately, but that was okay with us.

The food was good enough at the Tropicana, even though it's better at the CI, it wasn't a big enough reaon alone for us to stay there. Really if the pool/hot tub wasn't an issue for us we'd stay there. Maybe on a winter trip we'll try it some time! :)

Wheww! Thankgoodness for having an Annual Pass and living in California!
We can try out one, and next trip the other!
But of course still enjoy both times:rotfl: the one and the same Disneyland!

We had a great experience at Tropicana. Since we were there with a young 'un, we chose it because it was closer. We were actually so busy, we did not try the pool (dd fell asleep in the park, so one of us went to catch the big kid rides at that time ...). Our room was clean, it was very convenient and the front desk staff was very nice.

I think I will be kicking myself if I don't go with Tropicana. As we made the wrong decision before by going with another hotel without getting feedback from people...
Thanks so much for the help, really appreciate it! Looking forward to our trip!

Hi Kiwi, we were off to the right of the driveway. Like I said, amazing view of the Matterhorn! It was great! The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. That's what I look for in a hotel! LOL In fact, we are already talking about going back (we live in Nor Cal and bought AP's this year!) and talking about staying at the Tropicana again!

Included some pictures of the Tropicana Inn , I do have a few of our room if anyone would like to see them. If you have any questions, I will be glad to try and answer them.

I have stayed at the Tropicana before but still can't quite place where you were, did your room face the road and were you on the third floor (not far from breakfast room)?

Thanks

These photos are great! Is there a side at Tropicana that's three levels, cuz it looks like it was only two levels from the photos? It would be great to check-in the night before and watch Tink go! Are the rooms spacey? I couldn't tell from the Tropicana's site photos.

Yes if i remember right, one side has 2 levels and the other has 3. As for the room space, it was enough for the 4 of us. I have attached a couple pic links of our room to give you an idea of the room size. We love the location and the rooms and staff have always been great.

Kiwi, we were right next to the breakfast room. You would take the elevator up to the 3rd floor on the right hand side, walk out and to the right and our door was right there. We were about 3 rooms down I think. We didn't face the road, we looked at the parking lot.
