Haven't found much info for this place on here. Anyone stayed here? I love how close it is and I found a great deal, but would like to hear from you experts first!

Chris

We stayed at the Tropicana in March 09. The motel is close to the pedestrian crossing. We had a standard 2 queen room. The room was nice & clean. We had an issue with our toilet & maintenance came right up! We found the room to be quiet, even with noise out in the parking lot.

They have a small store & a pizza/coffee restaurant. They do serve a free breakfast, but we never went to it, so can't comment on what they have.

The pool is in the middle of the parking lot & always seemed busy when we were there.

We would have no problem staying there again in the future.

I also have stayed there once. Like DizNee Luver said, we also found the rooms to be pretty quiet. There's nothing special about the rooms, but they work for an easy walk to and from the parks. It's the fourth closest hotel to the parks (walking distance wise) after the Grand Californian, Best Western Park Place Inn and Park Vue Inn.

The breakfast is pretty limited but free. It worked for us because we just need something to get us going in the morning.

We would stay there again for sure.

We stayed there twice and booked DD22 and her DFi there one trip as well. The rooms are decent, the hotel is very close to the hotel, the hot tub is huge and is great for soaking tired toes, the staff was friendly. We would stay there again but it's not our first choice.

I stayed there September 2010. Complimentary breakfast is rather limited, juice and donuts. Room was clean and worked well for our needs. You can see the fireworks from the second story balcony, so we just walked outside our room with many others and watched the fireworks. It was great! Parking is free and when we came home after dinner there was usually one or two spaces available pretty close to our room. Nothing fancy but quiet and clean. My only complaint is the smoking area was right below our room and by the elevator if I remember clearly. I just remember being bothered by it daily, especially since I had a 1 year old.

We've stayed at the Tropicana many times. Our stays have varied from 3 to 9 nights there and we have always enjoyed our stays. The rooms are clean, nothing too special, just the standard bathroom, desk, table with a couple chairs, TV, mini-fridge and microwave. The breakfast, as noted earlier, is super basic - juice, coffee, fruit & muffins - but better than nothing. As a hotel, it feels safe. I would advise that you avoid the pizza place that is next to the convenient store. And should you choose to buy food or drinks from the store be aware that you should check expiration dates as their stock isn't always exactly "current". The front desk staff is friendly and has mostly been the same people for a few years. With taxes and fees their rooms are about $120 a night during busy times, which I feel is average. Best part is how close the hotel is to the park entrance. We used to stay at the BW next door but it doesn't feel as safe and feels a little more stuffy.

Anyway, with the exception of the HoJo entertainment (retro) rate, this has been our offsite go-to for years.

We stayed there in October. The 4 of us were a little cramped, but we really didn't spend too much time in the room. The biggest problem we had was the microwave didn't work properly and sparked a couple of times. It's not my choice for my upcoming trip in June, mostly because the standard room isn't right for the group I'm taking

we've stayed there twice and will be staying there again in may. it is a very convenient location! continental breakfast...mostly free, but some items from what i remember were $1. we'd grab some fruit and couple of muffins and be on our way to the park. nothing fancy, but it definitely served our needs! i would totally recommend the tropicana. the sister-hotel, camelot, is similar to tropicana and i can recommend that hotel as well.
