My 12yr old dd has set her heart on wearing a luau outfit, complete with grass skirt & lei accessories. Will she feel out of place (too hawaiian?) or do lots of people where this?
Also, does DCL hand out any flower leis or wristbands etc? (it would be less packing for me to squeeze in!!)

Thanks in advance,

Sallie (and Katie)

I think she'll fit right in. They used to hand out plastic flower leis in the dining room on this night. Not sure if they still do, though.

Thanks Lloyd, she will be thrilled to learn this!
Perhaps I'll hear from a more recent traveller on the handouts at dinner? I suspect I'll end up buying & taking them, only to find DCL version to be much better!!

Hi! We just returned from the 8/2 Magic. Ours was the Western so we had "mexcalifrag...night" instead of tropical. However, I'm guessing the celebrations are similar. They do provide you with flowered leis at dinner and the servers danced around the dining room in a Conga line! I'm sure they'd love to see families dressed for the occasion! :)

Thanks for that - I've just found her a skirt on eBay so she can go to the ball "Lilo" style!!

On our May '01 cruise we saw a couple of girls in grass skirts and they looked cute. Go for it. On both that cruise and our May '03 cruise (Western) they passed out fabric flower leis. It is a fun, festive night. Enjoy!
