I planning on getting our tropical wear for the party while in St. Maarten. We will probably take the water taxi to Phillipsburg, but not venture much further than that due to having two little ones. Can someone tell me where I can get men's and women's clothes, and also something for DD (3, and a size 3T/4T). DS (5 mo.) already has his red Hawaiian shirt!

Only 11 days 'til our 9/7 Magic cruise!

DH found his tropical shirt at St. Maarten.

There are tons of shops and outdoor stalls to shop at. We actually found the prices to be better in the shops, which surprised us considering how cheap the outdoor prices were.

Even if I could remember the name of the store, I doubt if you would be able to find it. It's such a hodegepodge setup, that we just ducked in to the shops that caught our eye.

I was amazed at the prices in St. Maarten. I bought a shirt for tropical night for about 6 bucks, same for my DS. DW's sundress was all of 12 bucks! Good deals. There are too many stores to mention any specific names; just duck into each of them for a quick look and you'll see plenty of styles.

ENJOY!

I had packed a shirt for Tropical night, but I found an excellent one on St. Maarten (and this one was large enough that I could button it) for $12. I agree that the prices in Phillipsburg are great and that you should have no problem finding appropriate tropical wear on St. Maarten.

I am a larger gal. I am interested if there were big sizes in the shops of St. Marteen?

Yes there are sizes for everyone. We bought for myself, DH, DD 8 and DS 4 outfits totaling 20.00. If we had not bargained we would of paid 36.00.
This is the hint the guy on the water taxi gave us. Shop at the end of the day. They will drop their prices quickly since it will not be long before the boat leaves. NEVER shop first thing in the morning.

PS-- shops open at 9:00am.

There are larger sizes but the problem I found was that they didn't have sizes on the clothes. So the lady in the booth outside was saying it would fit, it would fit.

Well, the skirt fit fine but the shirt was tight. Maybe going to the shops would be a better idea for me for next time.

was worried about this, now the worry is gone!:)

Good to know. Thanks.

I just wanted to make sure there are changing rooms in these places. I am a small-fry and typically need to try cloths on to assure they fit properly.

Even if the item is a bargin, I still want to look good for the evenig.
