Tropical Storm Wilma ~ To Affect Fla?

I am arriving Friday afternoon and leaving Monday late afternoon....

I am still planning to head down, and think if I am affected at all it will be Sunday during my trip and won't affect my travel days (too bad.. I could miss work ) Even though it has all of a sudden increased to a 5, "they" think it will go back down to a 3 before striking Florida.

Anyway, I was at WDW for Charlie last Summer, and it wasn't as fun as riding space mountain nor was it the worst experience of my life. I'll "ride it out," but am just hoping for the best and I'll wait and see.... what else can you do?

I vividly recall one newscaster reporting from Galveston TX just prior to Rita. With the most solemn expression he could muster, he said: "And tomorrow morning, Galveston as we know it will cease to exist".
Well--no.
Let's all hope this thing takes an extreme right hand turn and can miss all of Florida!!!

Tinkerchele, if all goes according to our plans, I will be arriving at MCO at 2:10p.m. on Saturday. If you are using ME, then we may be on the same bus to the Poly. Lets hope all goes well!!

Stitches12: I have never used ME before, so I will be the one looking all over the place not knowing what to do. The bus could be right in front of me and I would be the one to miss it. I am tall and I am traveling with my DS13, DD6 and my mom. I am not used to not getting my luggage, so this will be a real treat to use ME.

We leave Saturday morning 10 of us... My MOm, brother, sister and Brother in Law, niece and nephew, my girlfreind and my Sister's in-laws. Now ALL OF A SUDDEN, my brother in law is freaking out on my sister cause he is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOworried and wants to push the vacation back a day (even though coming in early sat sounds like its better than sunday) My sister is trying to tell him he has nothing to worry about. Im so mad, he is trying to ruin our trip. This is the first time being with my whole family. He cant do this!! I cant even think straight, Im so upset.. I told my sister I will keep checking the weather and checking in with you guys! Im not cancelling! The problem is, he has control over keeping my niece and nephew home!! And of course, MY MOM paid for EVERYTHING!~!! So he is not the one losing and money on the deal!!! He ony thinks about himself!

It is not suprising to hear how someone is freaking out over this if you look at it from his perspective. The media is making this out to be a huge storm and considering all the things this country has gone through in the last few months, there is no wonder why SOME people are afraid and worried...can't your sisters family leave a day early if need be??? Does the whole family have to stay behind or go early? How is he in charge of your niece and nephews? Does your sister not have custody of them or something? (not trying to sound rude just wondering???) I really don't know what to say other than tell him to chill and everything will be ok...

We decided to play it safe and are coming in Friday evening now instead of Sunday morning..I would rather be there and deal with it then try to deal with flying into it or not being able to get there at all because of delays etc

So you could tell your brother maybe you can come a day earlier?

He just freaks out alot. If it is that important to him, he could fly in a day early, but with my sisters work schedule and his work I doubt that will be possible. We leave NJ at 7am saturday, scheduled to be in orlando by 930am. It sounds like it will be worse later saturday. I really think we will be fine. I hope so.. I will keep watching , probably wont know for sure until friday how saturday will be...

CHANGED AGAIN!! 5:30 PM Wednesday. Just saw the director of the National Hurricane Center on TV. Yet ANOTHER computer model predicting a much different path, and a huge slowdown in speed. Virtually missing all but extreme S. Fla. Right?? Wrong??? Who knows!!

As of right now, you'll be much better off coming in on Saturday....tell your BIL to look at the latest track....it's still a few hundred miles off the coast of Florida on Saturday afternoon....

And don't worry, you'll be fine and have a great time. Even in the absolute worst case scenario (like Charley), you'll lose a portion of a day in the parks...but big deal...you'll be locked down at a Disney resort! And truthfully, I think Miss Wilma will be far enough to our south that you won't even know she's down there.
