Tropical storm to hit Miami :scared1: I know Miami is a couple of hours away but Orlando might get all the heavy rain  I usually keep on going with my plans to the parks but this short trip is to take it slow and enjoy the pool. Anyone else worried and thinking of not going? :sad2:

Hoping for some :sunny:

2 more days to go :sad2:

Well, I'm worried here, but I think you'll be safer at WDW. I just checked the weather report-the projected path of Chris takes it into the Gulf of Mexico, where I am. Hopefully, WDW will be OK. Now, anyone have a crystal ball for September?

Orlando is more than a couple of hours away from Miami. You'll be fine. The projected path takes it into the gulf anyway...besides it's losing strength right now. Maybe it'll just fizzle out soon. TS and hurricanes make for good Disney vacations. Drives people away and the weather after a TS or hurricane passes is always nice. :thumbsup2

Looks like we're going the same time. I like Sept. because of the chance for hurricanes. :lmao: Makes WDW less crowded and I figure if a hurricanes going to hit FL(where I live) then I'd rather be AT WDW than at home anyway. :thumbsup2

There is hardly anything left of Chris. Go and have FUN! Wish it was me lol.

As you can see on the newest update from the National Hurricane Center, Chris won't be going anywhere near WDW. That's closer to where the "FL" is on the map.

The current predictions don't even have Orlando in the cone of potential paths. Plus, they're saying it won't even become a Hurricane, so there shouldn't be too many far-reaching storm bands if any. I think it should still be watched (especially for those in south Florida), but I don't think it will effect WDW that much unless tourists get worried and cancel their trips without looking too closley at the predictions. If that happens, the only efftect might be lighter crowds next week.

As long as it isn't raining too badly at WDW (from those stray bands of rain that always occur during hurricanes & tropical storms), we're just going to don our ponchos and hit the parks. I've heard everywhere that rain always causes people to leave the parks. So it'll be empty, which is a nice change for the middle of August! ;)

I will be arriving on Sat as well and I don't care what happens! I was there 2 years ago through hurricane Jean and we survived, so I have my ponchos packed and we are sooooo excited!! Hope you have a great trip! party:

They are actually saying that it will be drier here than normal due to the storm. Those type of storms actually suck moisture from the atmosphere outside their immediate area. Since it is going way south, we probably won't see anything.

The cone seems to be a bit too far north to me. If you look at boatus.com, they have a spaghetti model that shows the predicted path as computed by 6 (or so) of the leading storm prediction computers worldwide.

Of those 6, 4 are towards the bottom of the cone. Only two have it threatening the lower tip of FL.

I realize the cone is an average of those predictions, but it seems to me that the center of the cone should be slightly further south.

But that's just my opinion.

Go to WDW and have a great time.

Id be more worried about what happens when it hits the really warm waters of the Gulf!

Thanks a bunch for the information, I was concerned because this trip is mainly to take it slow and enjoy the pool, we were there last month and did lots of park time, although we'll still be going to the parks in the later part of the day since we have AP's. But, seems like there is nothing to worry about so we'll be going through with our final trip for the year :cool1:

Thanks :thumbsup2
