Tropical Storm Ivan

From accuweather.com:

"Long range forecast models take Ivan into the Caribbean Tuesday night then into the north central Caribbean by the end of next week. There is great uncertainty where this system will end up toward the end of next week."

Ivan, why won't you go away? All I want to do is get on the boat on Saturday!:sunny:

I just checked the BoatUS website and the long range forecast looks like we may squeak by. Of course there are several factors in this, but I think that DCL may just pull the Magic out of port earlier to avoid the storm and head full steam out into the Atlantic to go around the back end of the storm. We'll see. I just hope we can get on the boat.

Hmm, husband just made a comment as I was sharing your posts, what is this-the Disney Hurricane season? We are assuming CC was hit hard by what the radar was showing, the port is getting it hard now (what about the cars for those who are parked? are the streets and parking lots flooded & damaged by the surge? the terminal building? How will it survive by Mon?) AND now IVAN!!! Gee, as he pointed out, if it goes the way they think it will be St. Marteen, ST. Thomas, Grand Cayman and Cozumel unless it goes north in the gulf, then maybe those last two ports would be saved. We can't take this any more and what about the Floridians who have to live in this? This is a nasty hurricane season. Kathy

Erin,
Boy, I sure hope you're right and we do squeak out before Ivan makes a mess. I was kind of thinking the same thing looking at the current forecast paths. I have no problem sailing out early!:drinking1

Kathy,
I'm with you, it does seem like DCL hurricane season! I can't imagine what it would be like to be living through these storms in Florida. God bless those who are there!

Posting from South Florida......We are now getting the
South Side of Hurricane Frances.....Still alot of gusts and
rain.

We (Florida) has taken a one - two punch in the past
3 weeks. We have no room for IVAN!!!! :)

So, we are really hoping for this new front that is hopefully
on its way will push IVAN away and give us and the
islands a chance to get back to some kind of normal day
activities again. There are so many Floridians that
are not taking down all of their shutters due to the fear of
it possibly coming.

But we are suppose to go to Orlando next weekend and
we can all really use a little pixie dust and fun :)

Hope all are ok, Orlando is now going through a pretty
tough part of the storm as we post, so hopefully by
tomorrow night this will all start calming down.

Take Care
Dana :)

Local Orlando weather has just reported that Ivan is being upgraded to a Cat 3 already. They said that it is going against the laws of nature... He said that storms just don't grow that fast in that part of the Ocean... OYE...and the mayor of Orange county has stated not to take the boards off the windows just yet. He said we obviously don't know what Ivan is going to do just yet, but to keep the houses boarded up for now just in case...

This has been a CRAZY hurricane season!!!
