I am arriving at DW on Aug 18th and am now concerned about tropical storm Ana. Is any one else worried? Am I going to have rain our entire stay? What about the tropical depression which is headed toward Florida too? Please help!!:sad2:

Though you can never predict exactly where a tropical storm might go; I always trust NOAA for the must up to date information-

National Hurricane Center

Just keep tabs on the weather, and enjoy yourself as much as you can! :goodvibes

It's not just Ana - gonna have to watch out for Bill now.

For the most part, don't worry your little head. The biggest problem you would have would be if your driving in the bad weather, or attempting to fly in. You will be delayed. Remember, a hurricane is pretty much a one day event. So, at best, if you are at WDW, you will most likely have to miss the parks for the day it {if it does} hits the area. Don't worry.

Hey wasn't there a week this past spring of this year that there was extreme rain and such that did last the whole week in orlando? Just made me think. When was it, and exactly how long did it last?

That was in the end of May...my parents were here that week and it basically poured all day...every day.

Yea, that's basically when our rainy season finally stated. We have had a defecit down here for about four years now. The rain is welcome, believe me. Our aquifers are filling up again. :thumbsup2

The latest Hurricane map that I've seen puts Ana near south Florida by Thursday. It may veer to the left and miss Florida all together. I'm not sure about the status of Bill.:hippie:

given what I docked in tonight, I'd say a hurricane already went through!

Yeah don't worry about this stuff. First of all, they blow it WAY out of proportion. Secondly, even if a hurricane comes through, Disney is extremely efficient at dealing with it. They know how to entertain people and when the storm moves through, they have the resort running at full strength ASAP.

I believe the hotels are capable of withstanding category 4 winds and their power structure is entirely underground so you don't have to worry about that.
