The good news is they really don't seem to know what's going to happen. Big shock, eh? :teeth:

As always, time will tell so keep informed if you're in the path.

Wow, amazing, it's already started!!! The red line ends about 30 miles north of me so that's a relief. Will be interesting to see where it goes. Anyone in the projected path, good luck to you... at least it's a tropical storm which is managable, just lots of rain.

This is sort of good news, assuming it stays a tropical storm. We need the rain so very badly here.

Last I heard it is still pretty disorganized. I am in the path but we really DO need rain very badly if it does come this way. As long as the winds don't increase or we don't get a ridiculous amount of rain at once - it might actually be a good thing. (gasp...can't believe I'm saying that!)

It's overcast and raining off and on here, it stormed this morning though. :bitelip: We have a concert to attend in Miami, but I don't want to be on the road with the crazy drivers. :badpc: :badpc:  :confused3

For all those in its path, stay indoors and I hope it's just a rain event. :goodvibes :goodvibes

I agree. Most of the area's it looks like it might hit are areas that aren't still in bad shape from previous storms, and areas that are burning. We really need this, sooooo badly. In some areas we need a super saturating rain fall to put out the muck fires that have been burning for the past month or more.

This is one TS that I think most will actually welcome.

And I just fixed the sprinkler heads in the front yard. Hopefully I won't need them for a couple days.

It seems pretty tame, some wind, 2 or 3 inches of rain. Heck, our lawns alone will suck that up faster than it can dump it.

Where in Miami? I would stay home, unless its an inside event. I "might" venture over to the movies, but I am sure DH will NOT want to see Cars. :furious: Its POURING right now!

It's in Coral Gables. It's definitely an inside event, but I can switch the tickets to next weekend. I keep looking out the window and hoping that maybe we can go, but I don't want to be driving on wet roads. The drivers are bad enough when it isn't raining.

Please don't let a storm hit next week. That's my only week in FL for about two years. If it hits we may not be able to go to WDW....

It's raining here in South Tampa. Just drove down Bayshore Boulevard - it's high tide, and the whitecaps in the bay are really kicking up!

The rain will be very welcomed here, but unfortunately we could also get a lot of flooding. I'm going to have to head to the grocery store. Bleah!

You'll see rain Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. No use fretting about it, it's going to happen. There will probably be one 24 hour period of heavy soaking rain. The rest of teh time it will be on and off.

It's going to have to rain really hard to make an impact. The down pour we had this afternoon sank into the ground so fast, it was like it never even happened.

I have a funny little story to tell here.

I'm having some problems with my hearing. I've suffered from tinnitus for years, but it's mild and normally I really only notice it when things are dead quiet.

A little background...About two months ago I began to have increasingly loud ringing in my ears. I've been seen by an ENT and an audiologist who can not find any logical explanation. My hearing has been tested, and is on the low side of normal, which is to be expected given my repeated exposure to loud noise in the workplace over the past 25 years. But it is within "normal" range. They feel it is probably a continuing reaction to medication I was taking, and it will hopefully go away on its own.

So I've been sitting at my breakfast bar with my laptop, tv on quietly in the background (Jim Cantore spottings have been ongoing!) and I kept hearing a high pitched "beep" sound, louder than the normal ringing, but it would beep for about three or four seconds, then stop. I assumed that my ringing was just getting worse.

Finally I determined that it wasn't coming from in my ears, rather from something in the house. I figured that DH must have left some electronic gizmo in the bedroom that was beeping. I walked in and heard the "Beep." I looked over. It was my weather radio with a storm warning. It's been going off for about two hours as best as I can tell. So much for having an "early warning system" when you ignore it.

I changed the signal tone to something that sounds like Martians are landing. :rotfl:

Yeah, when mine goes off, all 16 cats dive under the couch. :teeth:

daddyscooltv, I'm in Auburndale, not too far from where you are.

I can't wait for the rain. We really need it. It's too bad the soil is so sandy though. In a couple of days it will be like it never rained.

I agree....welcome Alberto.
Fires are still smoldering 15 miles from me, all of Florida needs this rain maker.
