Has anyone stayed at the Tropical Palms Fun Resort lately? I noticed that it was listed under the "best" place to stay, but that was awhile back. Thanks.

A little bump here. I too am interested in what anyone has to say about this place.

It's a great place to stay. We have been there many times. It is close to everything and the setting is much like Fort Wilderness.
The pools are good and not crowded. Restaurants are within walking distance. It is about 10 minutes from the Maingate entrance.

I just booked the Tropical Palms Resort based on all of the feed back I received a couple of days ago... read down the board a little and you will see the great reviews this place received...

Anyway, I am booked and ready to go in May... but one additonal word... both the web-site and brochure state that both of the models have full size kitchens... in fact, the studio model has a very small refrig. that fits under the counter (for my family, it will be ok but not for all)...

I e-mailed them and they quickly sent me a brochure in the mail.

Have fun!

I haven't stayed there. I've heard they are great. Only problems I found is that they didn't have phones in the rooms and only had basic cable. no hbo etc.

We were there for 2 wks last October. Put the 2 kids to bed in one room and had the tv to ourselves before bed in the other bedroom. Ate lots of meals there, especially breakfast - DH makes the BEST cheese omelets! Found it to be a great commute - only 5 min or so to the AK and it was clean and neat. Basic cable was fine, really only needed the news for the weather, cartoons (while I was showering!) and sports channel for DH before bed! REALLY did not miss not having a phone! The few calls I needed to make, I made with a calling card from the store pay phone. I've been to FW too, and would take anytime a 2 wk vacation staying at TP over the 1 wk vacation at FW that would equal the room cost!

I have friends who stay there each year and love it.. they get the 2 bedroom so kids can go to be earlier while they stay up later ..
I just checked some dates in late Oct and the 2 bedroom is showing for $79 per night and the studio for $59 !! GREAT price for anyone looking . Michelle

Ok I took the plunge and cancelled my HIFS ressies for Tropical Palms .. Booked the studio for $59 per night (plus 12% tax ) saving myself $150 for the 3 nights in Oct we will be there .. there is a pool side cafe' serving Breakfast Lunch and snacks ( ranging in price from .29 cents to 6.99 ) if you don't want to cook and shopping within walking distance !!
